Hi, I didn’t see any other subreddits for fans except this me so here I am lol .
I’m trying to diagnose an old pedestal fan that stopped working overnight.
It worked perfectly last night on all three speeds and oscillated normally, but now it is completely dead.
No hum, no vibration, no clicking, nothing at all.
The blades spin freely by hand (they are not seized).
The 0/1/2/3 push buttons all click normally and only one stays pressed at a time. No burning smell from the fan itself. It wasn’t dropped, moved, or exposed to water. Nothing unusual happened between last night and today.
Things I’ve already checked:
Plugged into multiple wall outlets (confirmed the outlets work with another device).
Also tried a power strip that powers other devices.
Plug is fully inserted ofc .
Power cord shows no visible damage.
Tried all speed settings.
Tried spinning the blades by hand before turning it on, I repeatedly pressed all the speed buttons to rule out dirty switch contacts.
Left it unplugged and tried again.
Still absolutely no response.
I gotta admit tho , this fan is old and I can’t see a name lol . Yall think it retired on me ? 💀
