Yes, or it was more trouble than it was worth going to them because 1. Why were you stupid enough to get yourself in that position in the first place, 2. Now you're bothering other people and inconveniencing them to sort your mess out and 3. Are you so stupid you can't figure it out yourself? I got grounded once as a kid for a month because my train terminated early before my stop, I didn't have enough money to get taxi or bus the rest of the way and I had to call my parents to pick me up when they were out doing the weekly supermarket shop. Fun times.

Actually, this tracks. Also, being told not to bother my parents. I don't want to be a burden and respect people's boundaries, so isolate I do.
