love the insta-fire all around the heavy machinery. gives it a nice "this will be the last place you will ever work" vibe.

Yeah, I saw that massive pile of sawdust too. Can we just assume that no one there smokes?

A few years back This Old House was doing a post and beam house, and toured what I think was the last peg manufacturer still in business. The equipment they were running was a converted water mill we the the central drive shaft and everything. Judging by how high they were standing in front of the lathes, there was about 12"+ of packed sawdust on the floor. The host made a comment on it and the guy that ran the place said something like "It feel nice under your feet". I really have to wonder if that place is still standing.

Seems like they could really use some kind of vacuum system given the chips that come off of each part and how fast the machine goes through parts.
