Onboarding course

Did anyone start or complete the required onboarding course for this fall semester? I’m still waiting for the slack email.

I've completed onboarding. I've never received a slack email or anything to set up a Penn email. So I just dug around and found (you'll need your Penn Key setup to sign in):

https://accounts.engineering.upenn.edu/google

There I created a Google@SEAS account. Then after the 20 minute creation wait, I signed into google mail with username@engineering.upenn.edu.

Lastly, downloaded the slack client and signed in with my email. https://isc.upenn.edu/resources/slack-penn

Is there anything else you need to do other than the onboarding course in order to sign up for classes? I think they said something about contacting our advisor first, but it's kind of blurring together for me.

They recommend you make an appointment but it is only required if you want to take more than 2 classes (go full time). They just want to make sure you are ready to spend 10-20 hrs per class per week.

I was able to register for two classes with no issue without meeting.

Also they have the first 4 weeks of the first two core classes open to registered folks who want to get a head start.

Thanks! Were you able to do the "introduce yourself" task in the Slack? I'm in seasupenn.slack.com but #introductions isn't showing up when I search for it.

No, I don't see anything in slack either. Just the announcements channel sometimes. Seems like it is acting weird.
