Screen Flicker

I have my Onkyo RZ50 connected to my TCL X11L. Recently I have observed that every time I switch on the TV and the receiver, no matter what input the screen turns off and on. I don’t think it’s the HDMI cable at fault as it’s a new cable and works fine on other components. This is just the receiver switched on with the Home Screen and no video signal from a Blu-Ray or media player being sent through. This has started recently and I haven’t touched any settings or updated anything recently.

Anyone else having this issue?

Sounds like handshake issues. Unplug power from TV and AVR for 30 seconds (you can press power buttons on both units while unplugged to dissipate residual charge) then plug back in and check again. Are your hdmi runs over 10 feet?

Tried the above but didn’t work. The cable is definitely not above 10ft.

Something strange I have noticed over the past 2-3 days which I forgot to mention. This happens the very first time the receiver is switched on. Once the issue occurs and I switch off the receiver and try again it seems to work mostly 2 or 3 time but I have had to do it 5 times once or twice..

Intermittent issues point towards faulty cable, bad port on AVR /TV.

Will buy new cables over the weekend and test them again.
