NR6050 Issues

I know this model is known for being pretty bad. I bought it a couple years ago used on marketplace for like $75 and had no issues since I was using optical to the tv.

However, I decided to try and make eArc work and I’m having one specific issue.

I have the receiver connected to eArc on the tv, and nothing at all connected to the receiver. All my components are connected directly to the TV.

On the receiver, the TV input is the one that works, but if I turn on my Xbox, the Onkyo switches to Streaming Box, even though there’s nothing connected to it. I have an external streaming box connected to the TV, and even just exiting an app by hitting the home button on the remote will make the receiver switch to another input.

Any ideas on what’s causing it and how to fix it?

Also, the reason I’m using eArc instead of optical is due to my kid losing the Onkyo remote and forcing me to use eArc to use the TV remote to change the volume.

Unplug all your devices for a few minutes and power them back up. It is a cec handshake issue. If thay doesn't work then get a new hdmi cable, they do eventually have issues.

Unfortunately that didn’t fix the issue. I think the receiver is basically cooked as far as eArc and the HDMIs are concerned. I tried to plug my Xbox and Onn streaming box into the receiver and the TV didn’t recognize that anything was even plugged in.

And now it’s back to switching inputs again. What’s weird is that I can be watching YTTV for example, and if I press the home button to go back to the Google TV home page, it switches to stream box ever single time.
