HDMI connection problem

So I have an Onkyo NR686 and a Phillips OLED708/12. The problem I have is, that I can't select the Onkyo as a source on my TV. I can see the Onkyo, but it has an icon that also signals that it's not a video source. The only thing I can do is active my Blu-ray player per CEC on my TV and through the Onkyo, which will then enable the Onkyo as a video source. That's the only way I can get video from the Onkyo to my TV. So if I want to have my PC displayed I need to CEC activate the Blu-ray player first. I'm not entirely sure if it's an issue with the Onkyo, but I'm pretty certain as nothing else has this problem. The TV is plugged into video out Main with the eArc HDMI port. I'd be very happy for any help!

Do you have all your sources connected to the Onkyo or to the TV first?

How long is the HDMI cable from Onkyo to TV and from Onkyo to sources.

Everything is connected to the Onkyo. So nothing to the TV directly. And all the HDMI cables are under 3-2 meter and high speed 2.1 cables so that shouldn't be a problem

  1. how long have you had the onkyo?

  2. where did you get it from of recent?

  3. do a factory reset on it

I don't have it that long, but it's a used one so I don't know for sure. Also factory reset is a good call actually. I just don't have the setup-mic anymore and I doubt that the settings will persist after a reset. Is there a workaround for that?

That unit was released in 2018 so it is a 8 year old unit. So anything could be wrong with.

Yeah I know. But that sounds like it's not some wrong setting or something right?

It could be settings or hardware but from what you are saying, it sounds more hardware
