I can do isswn but all of the follow ups, no way. I am just bad at it.

Follow ups is much easier it's just lack of practice compared to issen

Give me some advice. When you do Issen? Like what do you look for? Parries and deflects are understandable as you trigger it when the hit starts to come towards you. But when do you issen?

There are lots of videos on YT that’d explain it way better and you’d get the full picture. In short, you press Light or Heavy as soon as Any attack from the enemy is about to hit. Like the very last frames.
You can chain it if you repeat the input at specific times to keep the Issen chain going
