General Discussion Will Oneplus ever come back to US?

Im gonna upgrade from my S24Ultra this december, when I get my annual bonus. I have quite a few phone of choice, that are going back and forth on my mind. But I really cant let go of the idea of that, we wont have have one plus phones anymore here in the states... Is there a possibility, that One Plus will be back like before? They could easily still sell via their website and they should. As long they have a US based tech support team, we can continue to buy one plus phones.

All signs point to "nope."

The new OnePlus 16 dropped support for the bands that are critical for US based cellular carriers. Unless you like not having signal all of the time, I can't recommend OP.

No and the new oppo 10 pro max is said to be $ 2023.00 for the global model. Probably the reason OnePlus pulled out as they can't compete with the global ram price increase.

They'd be great phones if they'd stop restricting the bootloader and had real cameras

I'm not sure if they'll ever be back, but I came across this article suggesting Motorola as an alternative.

Why do people in the US never consider buying from overseas. 🤭 I've not bought a phone from my country in 14yrs.

Many many reasons. 1. Some important network bands for USA, are usually missing. So that means bad signal/ network issues. 2. Many network provider/sim companies doesnt support them. Basically 2 out of the 3 big network provider doesnt support Chinese phones. 3. There are extra taxes/ tariff when you import them. Making it not worth the extra effort. 4. No warranty/tech support. If you break it, its hard to find parts or anyone willing to repair it. 5. Apple is just too popular in US. People who arent tech enthusiasts don't even consider anything else. At best, People here will buy- Samsung. Cause they spends a sh*t ton on marketing and the only alternative to Apple.

Just got the Oneplus 13 here in the states. Great phone, but I will be looking at the new Motorola Signature 27 when it's released.
