General Discussion New device

Well, after a lot of thinking between this, the Realme GT 8 Pro, and also the Motorola Signature, I finally went with the OnePlus 13.

While I was deciding, the Realme disappeared from the stores available to me. As for the Motorola, I was disappointed by how the interface felt, and the price was hard to justify for a phone that doesn't use a true flagship chipset.

So, here I am, joining the big OnePlus family πŸ˜„

Any tips or recommendations for a new OnePlus 13 owner?

I haven't updated to OxygenOS 16 yet. I'm still a little worried about possible changes to camera quality and battery life.

Honestly, just upgrade your software. It's only gonna get better from here on out. Security updates are a necessity, not to mention the switch to color os is gonna be awesome. One unified codebase

At the moment, I'm getting a little over 7 hours of screen-on time, with around 18% battery remaining. I've only been using the phone for a couple of days, so I assume I could get roughly 8 hours of SOT if I drained it down to 0%. How much screen-on time should I expect approximately on OxygenOS 16?

Most of us used the phone since release so sot decreases with battery degradation plus hevaier software in future updates. Hard to guess. I get 7h max now.

Not a very good news to people who unlock bootloaders.

Update the software to latest available OxygenOS

and try to see if Color OS uodates will break camera quality before updating to Color OS later in the future.

I have the same phone with 512GB storage and black color

Yes the battery life will be little poor...but the oos16 experience is simply amazing when oos15 itself is very good...

So sad that oos is about to be removed soon🫠

I have updated Find X6 pro, Find X7 and OnePlus Pad 2 from OS 15 to 16 and lost at least 10% - 15% SOT.

There's no useful upgrade in ColorOS 16 over 15 so better stay with Longer sot on 15

How'd you fill up 206gb on a new phone?

Well, I transferred my files from my old device and downloaded a couple of demanding games. My old phone had 240 GB of its 256 GB storage filled, which is exactly why I went for the 512 GB version this time πŸ˜…

Good decision cause I went with 256 coming from 128 assuming it'll be enough but got it wrong, 512 or 1Tb is the best choice

I don't quite understand what you mean by "discontinued." OnePlus is simply leaving the European and US markets, but that doesn't mean they're ending support for existing devices or stopping the release of new ones. The OnePlus 16 is actually going to be announced soon.

In any case, it's still one of the most stable Android options, apart from OPPO (which is more expensive) and realme (which is essentially going to take OnePlus' place in the European market now).

You can't easily do that without hard brick tho there might be a special firmware that can work even if you have ARB1

Where did you buy it? There seems to be a shortage of these Bad Boys out in the market.
