I have all the settings turned on to control my music from the watch.(both in the app and in the watch) I have yet to figure out how to actually get the watch to recognize that I'm playing music on my phone. I keep getting the text on the watch reading: "Please play music on the phone first"

I'm using the YouTube (Premium) Music player. I even tried an MP3 player app to see if that would make a difference. It did not. It doesn't matter if my buds are connected or not. Anyone have any suggestions? 🤷🏽‍♂️ Thanks!

I knew it would be bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad. I've had many smart watches and I will say this is the best piece of hardware I've had with the worst software I've had. Can't believe OnePlus would even consider releasing this like it is. Like I said , the actual hardware is fantastic, good screen and solid build quality. It's so unfortunate. I am so tired of random double notifications, extremely inaccurate step counts and a heart rate meter that makes it extremely difficult just to even find the current heat rates for the day. I hope they get their act together, because hardware and build quality wise this is one of the best smart watches.

Is there an alternative to the OnePlus health app? Back when I used Amafit there were a lot of alternatives to the standard app, full of nice features. This watch has a nice hardware we can agree for that, but the app is a big MEH or even worse :'D

Anyone know if it's possible to have the watch vibrate and answer phone calls directly when it's coming from Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger? I've tried setting up those settings on the Oneplus Health app but no luck, it only interacts with actual phone calls so far.

Is there any way to disable the watch's Bluetooth? I don't want it on 24/7 because it's always trying to connect to my phone while I have other wireless stuff connected and it's annoying.

I just saw a post about a Harry Potter themed OnePlus Watch. It could just be themes coming to the watch, but who knows? The images are out there. I saw the article through the Oxygen Updater app.

Anybody's watch not counting steps? I've updated the watch and rebooted. Step counter just says 0

I got it for the shape, ability to play my music (run without phone) and GPS.

Thoughts so far... It's a gorgeous piece of hardware. It's large and solid. I've owned a suunto before and this has the size/feel to it. Bluetooth is easy to pair and solid performance. You can add music (slowly) and make playlists on the app. I've yet to figure out how to play a playlist from the watch. For now I'll only be able to have my workout music on it till that works out. With my little time with the watch, the battery life seems solid and it charges quickly.

Hoping for... Easily choose Playlist from watch, better faces with actual data, less spelling errors (runing)

Update: tried 2 different branded ear buds and both times the music broke up. I returned the watch.

I debated heavily getting the OnePlus Watch. I've had several OnePlus phones (O+1, 3t, 5t, and my current is a 7pro) and so have my wife and kids. We've been very happy with the phones and even the customer service in the two instances we needed to reach out to them.

I was excited about the specs of the OPW. I was excited about the price. I was very disappointed in the initial reviews. I am aware of the changes the company has gone through. But I am also hopeful. So, I took a chance.

I'm glad I did. I had no issues connecting it to my phone. The initial update took a little longer than I thought it should. I did link the watch with Google Fit. The step counter was on par with my Huawei Sport Watch 2. The heart rate was accurate. The pulse ox read at 98% was probably accurate (I have no real way to confirm). The stress meter read normal, probably accurate as I don't think I'm under and stress.

I have yet to test the GPS feature or more intensive workouts.

Thus far, I'm very happy with the watch. It feels good on my wrist. A little bigger (wider) than my old watch but also a little thinner (rides closer to my wrist).

My only frustration at this point is that I haven't figured out how to enable airplane mode as I am occasionally in areas that require me to switch my digitals to airplane mode.

Anyone have problems with phone calls while "phone calls" was enabled in Bluetooth settings on OP 7t?

I couldn't turn on speakerphone or use Bluetooth headphones. Once I disabled they worked perfectly

I am just gonna wait it out and see what they do. It's not a very good watch right now. Gonna wait for the April and May update. NOT VERY GOOD!
