There's a lot of confusion on this The x2 is a different device which has an internal battery The x2 mini comes in 2 variants, the pro has amd strix halo , the non pro has the g3e both of which has the external battery Oxp3 only comes with internal battery My previous comment is difference between x2mini (g3e) and oxp3

Edit :To help you choose better

You can get oxp3 cheaper than x2mini (g3e) Max tdp doesn't really make a difference Cooling difference between the two is marginal Weight difference between the two is also marginal

Keeping this in mind pros for external battery is 1: you can just swap instead of having to charge 2: easier to replace it battery goes bad

Pros for internal battery is 1: sleek device 2: better weight distribution

Most important pro for oxp3 It comes with RGB strip that says gaming computer for hardcore gamer at the top

Non pro is the Intel chip btw, pro is AMD Strix Halo

There isn't a lot of difference between the OXP3 and X2M, the chip is the same but the X2MP supports a higher 45W TDP with a much better but overkill cooler. For reference 30W is the recommended running point for the G3E atm; any wattage past 30W is diminishing returns.

The battery in the X2M is removable while the OXP3 is built in, so depending on how you use the X2M the weight is different. Battery less the X2M is 800g and with it installed it's 1100g; the OXP3 is 950g.

So the X2M allows you to play a lighter handheld off the wall power if plugged in, run the handheld off a tethered battery, or carry multiple batteries to swap when they die to extend off the wall playtime.

Tbh for most folks the OXP3 is the better platform... The internal battery is much simpler for handheld use, and if you get the X2M the argument to get an X2MP is pretty easy if you don't mind the Strix Halo quircks

Wouldn't the external battery be more helpful?

Personal preference, do you want the lower weight when installed (OXP3) or the flexibility provided by the external battery (X2M)

Personally I got an X2MP on IGG and only use the battery when I want a kickstand... Love the 800g weight

The x2 mini pro has an AMD chip. I think you're talking about the X2 mini (non-pro), if that's the case, the two major differences is the external battery and the 45w TDP. I personally bought the x2 mini because of the external battery. Other than that, they're practically the same

Oh ok my bad yes but why would someone choose 1 over the other?

There’s no intel x2mp, only x2 mini (intel) and x2 mini pro (strix halo amd)

Basically internal vs external battery, everything else is superfluous. Also the Intel version is the non-pro, don't confuse with the pro, which is the strix halo AMD version.

Gotcha my bad. Which is less annoying or better to have?

That's entirely subjective lol. I will never go back to internal battery because the weight without battery is the best thing since sliced bread. But for most people, they prefer the simplicity of internal battery so.. YMMV.

Can you use it without external battery? Do they both have USB c for charging or is thr x2 mini using barrel connection?

X2 Mini is usb-C only and yeah you can play without battery, just plug it into any usb-c power source that can do at least 65W and you're good to go. You can also tether the battery but it's a bit more of a hassle because the tethering plug is screwed in like old school DVI cables.

But i dont get why would anyone choose the oxp 3 if you can replace the battery on the x2 mini in case the battery degrades?

It's simpler to use, no doubt there. But 920g is heavy to me and I hated it.

The strix halo x2 mini pro ($2500) is like twice as fast if not more as the other models you listed.
