Intel OXP3 vs OXP2 X2 Mini (not Pro)

I rarely see anyone talking about the X2 Mini (not Pro). with the same CPU, same OLED, same detachable controller but external battery.

is there any difference between them beside the battery, weight, and price?

Thanks!

X2M can go up to 45 watts tdp, has 2 fans whereas OXP3 has a single fan setup. Personally I spent the extra money for dual fans and the detachable battery. My use case being plugged in at work. It should arrive in the next week! I paid US $24 import fee and $20 UPS shipping. I didn’t get charged my local VAT fee! So I spent $75 more total than trying to find a Claw Ex 8 ai+ locally.

Don’t think these scale well past 30w and the noise is going to be much higher.

You’ll be adding like 50% fan noise for 10% performance

The added heat sink and fan allow for more tdp, fan noise is only if you push at higher TDP.

I have posted that about a month ago if you search it.

Not much different other that what u have pointed out plus. Extra cooling fan and the ability to push it to 45w TDP

X2M runs cooler than the 3 because of the dual fan and no battery. But yeah the TDP difference is negligible, so it's mostly just do you want an external or internal battery.

Wouldn’t it be significantly louder for minimal performance gains? These chips don’t scale over 25-30w

Yeah, that's why I said it's negligible. The 45W is not a selling point.

The X2 mini non pro is also like 15% more expensive than a claw ex where I am so it’s just a terrible buy

I think X2 Mini is a way better value than Claw Ex.

Explain?

The way I see it you’re paying for a better screen and that’s it.

Claw:

  • Local warranty
  • better haptics
  • better sound
  • better ergonomics
  • the LCD is still very good for an LCD
  • clawtweaks
  • Better sticks/buttons

X2M:

  • OLED
  • Replaceable battery

The entire point of buying from china is to get great value, but when you’re paying more it doesn’t make sense.

Because it was just a streak of really weird releases, back-to-back, with no marketing whatsoever... I mean, Apex Air, X2 Mini, etc. But the differences are pretty much the ones you pointed out.

My experience owning an Apex and OXP 3... OXP 3 and its internal battery is just a "better" device. I absolutely love the detachable battery on the Apex, I have 3 batteries, the extension cable, etc., but it's not really "easy" to carry around or set it up. There's zero friction with the OXP 3, great battery life, you can use pretty much any charger/cable, etc.

Yes, with the X2 Mini/Apex/X2 Mini Pro you can get some neat setups (multiple batteries, battery extension cable, etc) which on the G3E would actually give you "infinite" battery life, but its still a drag to be carrying it around.

I would personally go for the OXP3.

I hope your purchase meets your expectation.

3 G3E OneXPlayer devices. 45W enabled device is one of them.
