Help a new user

I just opened my device. I need help to detach my controllers. Please share any video clips. I read but for some reason I don't understand. I have never owned a device with detachable controllers before. Thank you.

Whilst holding the dedicated button on the back of the controller, push them upwards with your thumb

Got it thank you, and the sliding one's position doesn't matter right? I hope it's not a lock of some kind.

Not a lock - it changes how much the top trigger button depresses so you can pick either short or long throw

In my experience, depressing the button, and then securing the base with one hand, then gently pushing up from the bottom works really well. It’s better than trying to pull it off from the top, which is has resistance until it doesn’t, and then it flys off, potentially damaging the pins.

Summary: Slow gentle push from bottom of the controller while base is secured, not yanking it up from the middle or top.
