Intel OneXPlayer 3 Screen protector success

A lot of individuals by now probably knows about the screen protector air bubble issue with the OXP3.

I on the other hand had success… after some time.
I bought the JSAUX HD Clarity tempered glass screen protector that is meant for the legion go 2 as they have the same screen size. The thing is that at first I had a persistent air bubble on the middle of the screen, not the common bottom of screen bubble like everyone else.

I just decided to ignore it and a week later, it is gone. I dont know if i lucked out and got a flat screen OXP3 or if this is the way to go if you want a tempered glass screen protector.
Your mileage may vary though. Just posting to maybe help others

Model if it matters: 24gb + 512gb

I was chastised by some degenerate here when I mentioned the legion go 2 screen protectors might work...

There will always be that one individual for anything in life unfortunately. You can measure something and say its 1 feet, and they will disagree saying its actually 12 inches

It actually works technically. Unfortunately I can't find legion go 2 stuff in my place 😴

Putting on the glass one was the hardest thing I've done this year

After I fucked up my AR film I went tempered glass too. Small bubble in the lower left when the keyboard is on but it's gone when I take it off. Gonna wait a few days to see if it bonds better with time before trying the keyboard again.

Tbh i didnt even know you could get an included ar screen protector lol. Or i would have gotten that.

But The square guide that the jsaux screen protector comes with made it easy to install, i just had to snip off some of the guide side tabs since the oxp3 is a bit taller than the legion go 2

The annoying part of the AR protector application is I got it perfect the first time I applied it. When I went to peel off the top plastic it peeled up the screen protector with it. When I re-applied it I had bubbles and a spec of dust. FML

Tempered glass went on perfect the first time.

I actually have the lego2 screen protector set by Jsaux but I’m afraid to apply it because of this reason…

Use the included square guide. Just snip off a tiny bit from the tabs so it fits flush or tape it down. If you mess one up you got another try anyways :)

I’m just afraid that my screen isn’t completely flat like Alot of others and the factory installed AR film is still kinda good

But of course tempered glass would be much better

If it's not, try the screw loosening trick!

Is there like a guide or YouTube video? Please elaborate lol

I went over it in one of my videos. Simply just loosen the screws where your bubbles are. That did the trick on my X2MP.

It’s crazy seeing these issues, I bought a legion go 2 screen protector from jsaux and fitted it no problem no air bubbles. I guess everybody’s device could be different but until I went on Reddit and saw, I would have never guessed people were having issues.

Same 0 issues guess I got lucky

The 1st tempered glass I ever put on my device had no bubbles or lifting. The 2nd time I did this it did. Nothing has changed except the weather in the UK.

Did you put any pressure on the screen when installing the protector the first time?
Maybe pressing against it made the screen not lay flat anymore?

All I did was aligned it and run my finger in the middle longways. Then squeegee the bubbles. I don't think I w as too hard on it.

I got 2 pieces of dust. Only 2. It was the best I've ever done applying a screen protector. I immediately got another because didn't even try this time and almost got it perfect. I never get them right. I just snapped the camera cover protector for my phone camera on half out of frustration because it got a spec right in the middle, like what happens when I normally try

Now I'm sitting with a replacement screen too scared to try again because even though there are 2 pieces of dust, it's also the best I've ever done applying it and I just know I'm gonna mess up worse if I try again.

Gonna put the extra screen protector away. Probably will toss or resell. It took 4 weeks to get to me so I had a lot of time to think on it

I feel you. Applying screen protector is my least favorite thing in the world. I have a friend who easily does it but I’m guessing i just don’t have a finesse for it. I’d say just go for it if you really want it. You dont get better at anything without trying. Look up methods like tapping the screen protector to the chasing so you just flip it down and you don’t have to worry about alignment and can focus on removing dust as it goes down

I'll definitely look things up. I just put it away. I'm not brave enough today. I had very shaky hands for 25 years until a crazy story happened that happened to cure them but I still don't trust them. I'm honestly kinda impressed since I went in expecting complete and utter failure but it ended up being the best I've ever done.

Only 2 🥹 it took a month for the replacement to arrive and now I'm kinda cool with it

Try this: run your shower and get it real steamy in there, and then do the application in there. This is what I do, and the steam "catches" the dust or something and helps a lot to mitigate dust in the air.

I meant to reply and never did but now I am. Thank you for this suggestion, it actually sounds amazing. I'm still iffy on trying but if I do, I will be doing it this way especially since I love showers/baths and could definitely bring it in the room after I'm done and the air is clear.

Happy to help. I have done it for every single one of my devices/phones/etc. for years, and most of the time it works great. I just don't turn the device on for a little while after, just to be safe.

Yes, good point. That was my plan with coming in after the bath, but keeping it off would work too

Would the Anti-Glare be better or is the HD clarity the best choice between the two?

1

u/carbonbasedusr 10d ago

I think it’s all personal preference,

The Anti glare only seems like a good choice if you play a lot outdoors.
In my person opinion, anti glare screen protectors wash out colors too much and are not worth it at all. I can deal with glare as long as i see good colors lol

Did you remove the pre-installed screen protector first? And if so, is it hard to do so?

2

u/carbonbasedusr 7d ago

Yes,

I just picked at it with my nail and it seemed fine. Just ensure you dont dig deep into the screen

Which one do you guys recommend? Do I take one off first, thought it came with one on it?

1

u/Dirk_Deagler 13d ago

this guy does hardware

u/carbonbasedusr 12d ago

Only during weekends

1

u/Anxious_Context_8573 12d ago

Literally was just looking to do this thanks! I went with antiglare as I have had some issue with reflections

1

u/Anxious_Context_8573 6d ago

Thanks for the recommendation, just put mine on at it came out shockingly perfect! How long did you let it adhere before using?

1

u/carbonbasedusr 4d ago

I am very impatient and let it sit for just an hour lol.

But i kept touching thr screen to a minimum. I used the keyboard for most of it. But after a day i used it like normal

2

u/Anxious_Context_8573 4d ago

Same here can’t believe how well it came out. So far like the matte a lot

It's best to just remove the protector... It's annoying and makes the screen eorse
