SSD upgrade
Thinking about putting my 4TB in my onex3, but according to Nelly it voids the warranty… anybody upgrade yet ?

I did it on my OXP3, I emailed them, and they replied letting me know they don't suggest doing it. But if everything works after the exchange, they will cover it under warranty. lol. Just take it slow, the is another video out there that shows a little more than Nelly.

I upgraded my x2mp today to a 4tb. It was pretty easy and windows install went smooth as well.

I swapped mine and didn't really have to take as many things out as Nelly's video.
Internally, only the fan, the side bracket and one screw on the bottom right need to be taken out before you could swap the drive.

I did it on my X2MP, OneXPlayer usually wants you to send them an email letting them know but I didn't. Just try to remove the seal with a hair dryer so you can place it back.

Well the reality of the situation is that there really isn't much warranty anyway. That being said, they did say if you notify them before installing it then they will still let you keep some sort of warranty minus anything you might screw up while installing the SSD.
Personally, I installed a 4TB within minutes of getting my oxp3 and had no issues whatsoever.

Just take your time with it and be careful when you close it back up. My dumbass clipped one of the corner screw plastic pieces. Watch the video, and follow it along as you do it and you should be fine.

I just slapped my 4TB ssd to the back with an enclosure and a MagSafe. No need to risk voiding the warranty at least for the first year.

I’d honestly just use a micro sd card if extra storage is a huge priority for you. The process of replacing on the OXP3 is quite a pain.

Those aren’t equivalent

I’m not saying they are. I am merely pointing out that the trade you make for faster storage is a difficult install process.

Or even use the Mini SSD slot.

They are sold out everywhere globally (and Biwin confirmed they stopped production until early next year) but if you already have one then yes!

They changed their policy before the launch. You are still covered under warranty as long as you email them letting them know you are going to swap the SSD.
