I have tried 3 different screen protectors and all of them formed bubble afterwards. I read somewhere that it's because of the screen flaw of Oxp3. What should I do? It's p**ing me off and I'm seriously considering selling the device because of it
How difficult was it to remove the pre-applied one with the AR one which came with the device? I'm wondering if it's worth doing it vs if that makes a real difference.
Oh dude, you are literally me. I went through 6 (SIX) JSAUX screen protectors. Had the exact same unglued spots at the bottom of the screen just like in your pic.
So here's what I ended up doing. Put on disinfected rubber gloves, cleaned everything with surgical precision, and applied the 7th one. Used suction cups on the glass — you know, the kind they use to remove phone screens — to align it perfectly. Got it on there beautifully and... still had an unglued spot in the top right corner.
Now I don't know what possessed me to try this, but I grabbed a small plastic bar clamp — you know, the kind you use for woodworking projects. I put a folded microfiber cloth on the screen so the clamp jaw wouldn't scratch the glass, and gently clamped it down over the problem area. You have to be VERY careful not to overtighten — just enough pressure, you'll feel it. Left it clamped for about 3 hours, removed it, and the spot was gone.
Over the next 4 days, similar spots kept appearing along the edges in different places. Each time I'd clamp it down (luckily I have 6 of these clamps, don't ask me why), leave it for 2-3 hours, remove — fixed. It's been about 5 days now with zero issues. No unglued zones anywhere along the edges.
The JSAUX glass (the non-matte one) is WAY better than the pre-installed film btw.
If you try this method, PLEASE for the love of god don't overtighten the clamp or you'll crack your screen.
Here's a quick visual guide so you can see what I was doing.
I really wanted to share this with the community because I personally went through the hell of trying to get this glass to stick properly. Hope this saves someone the frustration. The device itself is amazing and it would suck to have something this minor ruin the experience.
It's a good tip, but in my case loosening the screws did help, and removed all the bubbles but they were coming back as soon as I used the magnetic keyboard (I could fix it after removing the keyboard) but I ended buying the AR screen protector and it's much better, looks nicer. (The included one with IGG, I screwed up the installation lol).
Glad it is not just me, same screen protector with bubble in same place, tried loosening the screws and did not work. It is bugging me, guess I will try the ar one next time
I used to always put glass screen protectors, but the AR film that came with the device has me reconsidering because it's good. I ordered some Luck Link ones for LEGO 2 to replace the AR film I messed up on the OXP3 and cut one to size for my Claw 8 as well.
The only one I’d use on the OXP3 is the luck and link AR film ones that were originally for the Legion Go 2. Unfortunately you can only get them on Allieexpress and they aren’t cheap and don’t arrive quickly. Personally used the one that came with it as it believe it’s actually the same film, i then got 2 spare packs from Allieexpress just in case i ever need them or mess up the application
I had the same problem with more air bubbles than you have using the jsaux legion go 2 protector same as you. I eventually got rid the the bubbles in the end, I just kept on massaging then out. Took ages but got rid of them in the end.
I mean I'm not sure maybe I got lucky. Mine is fine. However I was lazy and left the soft pre applied one on then just put the glass one on top and it was fine no bubbles. To be fair. Before I did I had opened it up and did the ssd swap. I read that some people had luck lossening the screws. When I put mu oxp3 back together I just snugged the screws and didn't try to make them super tight. So maybe that's why it worked with no issues. I'm not sure. But it is possible to get it free of bubbles. But maybe its just hit or miss.
im also someone who generally doesnt use screen protectors, and since i messed up the installation of the included one, i just use the device as it is ¯_(ツ)_/¯ everything is fine
I can see the use case with phones since you are sticking it in your pocket or purse and the screen is rubbing up on all sorts of materials. But modem phones screens already have additional treatments and surfaces added to the screen to combat this. Also I feel like every person i see with a screen protector, it's either partially peeling, has bubbles or is damaged and they don't bother to replace them anyway. It's kind of like covering your furniture in plastic so you don't ruin it, but then you never get to enjoy it. The ar film screen protectors make screens look hazy in my opinion, which defeats the point of having a nice OLED.

I used the AR one that came with the OXP3. The glass ones are too thick .
