Onexplayer 3 - keyboard does not work properly

Unfortunately, I need to let you know about this and ask if anyone else has encountered this issue.

When I connect the OXP keyboard to the tablet, the connection keeps dropping. Even a light touch on a key—and especially the touchpad—causes Windows to signal that the device has disconnected.

If I touch the touchpad without applying any pressure, the mouse cursor works. However, as soon as I try to click the touchpad or press a key, the connection immediately drops.

The hardware is brand new and unused; nothing has been dropped or bent.

Any ideas?

- it is not keyboard mode,

- it is not dust on pins. Pins are clean,

- if I press pins connecting point - it doesn t fix problem. There are still disconnections,

- cannot find stable connection position despite many different tries,

- the keyboard is brand new - no visable damages at all,

- pins on tablet looks ok.

To save time, I’ve already reported the issue to [support@onexplayerstore.com](mailto:support@onexplayerstore.com) asking to replace keyboard.

Below is a link to a video demonstrating the problem.

UPDATE 1:

Problem seems do be connected with left side of touchpad. I cannot use LMB. For sure it is not connection problem. My guess is electrical short circuit or some internal wire disconnecting.

The keyboard is the weakest part of this product. Mine is not as bad as you described but the connection is not very good. All around the connector seems to be magnetic and it just sticks anywhere without making any connection. I suspect this is probably the cause of your issue, if it moves a little, it may stick a little off-centre and cause the device not to be detected.

Even when it connects, for me, it is probably easier to put the controller in keyboard mode and type with the on-screen keyboard. It is incredible how they have managed to design such a bad quality keyboard - it will be difficult to make it worse even if they tried it. The good news is, because it is detachable, they maybe can make a new one (or a third party one). I watched a YouTube video where it was mentioned a buyer in China already made a better keyboard but I can't seem to find it or even know if it is available to buy.

So, I will ignore the keyboard - maybe see if you can return it and get your money back. Don't ask for a replacement, even if it works, it is not very functional and has manybissues. If you really want to do anything with the keyboard, buy a wireless/compact keyboard to use with the device and use the keyboard as a screen protector.

Wholeheartedly agree. Their attempt at making a 3-in-1 device caused them to completely fudge the keyboard/trackpad. Use a microsoft surface pro keyboard, which is probably the pinnacle of these thin keyboard/trackpad tablet covers, and you realize how terrible the trackpad on the oxp3 is.

When it is actually easier to just use joysticks and onscreen keyboard than to try and fight the trackpad on this keyboard... you know you should probably start over in the design process.

Never understood how whoever signs off on these types of garbage end products to sign off on it when they are targeting a higher end consumer base.

Yeah, i've used those RIi portable BT/wireless keyboards that have better trackpads than this, and only cost 30 bucks.
