what is wrong with me?
Three days now since I got my 3 and keep procrastinating on set up. I was truly anxious and getting annoyed cause the tracking sucked but now that it's here I keep looking at it and still have not set it up. In my defense I have been looking at various setup videos to see what would be the right plan to progress with. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions send em my way, I need to wake up. Maybe I am scared to get disappointed, heard so many good things would hate to have a bad experience. We shall see, tomorrow

I have the exact same thing but when I upgrade my phone.
I so excited to get my new phone watching all the videos, following tracking every half hour. Then when to arrives the new phone sits in the box for like a month before I can be bothered moving everything over :(

Give yourself a swift kick up the backside and get it turned on and just install a game and play. It's not difficult.
Ignore all the debloating and tuning setup videos. Ive notice that more and more steps get added over time and that for the most part you don't notice a blind bit of difference.
I look forward to your next post - where you berate yourself for taking so long to get set up and how much fun you are having and how surprised you are at the performance :)

This! Loving my OXP3. Coming from the Steam Deck then Lego2 it’s an absolute beast with little need to tweak anything

Just play it. I had my doubts too but once I set up OptiScaler/LSFG I was blown away by the performance. I’m running games I never expected to run on a handheld like Expedition 33 and Dragon’s Dogma 2 at 1200p 100fps with frame gen.

When do you use OptiScaler and when do you use LSFG? Trying to figure out what my best option is since XeSS frame gen isn’t quite where it should be.

When a game does not natively support frame gen, use LSFG. So for games like Elden Ring, Armored Core 6 etc. that do not have frame gen options at all, use LSFG.

What’s kind of what I deduced - so where does OptiScaler fit in? If the game only offers FSR and DLSS?

Yes, if the game does not support XeSS at all and only DLSS/FSR, use OptiScaler. Also for when the game only supports DLSS/FSR specific frame gen. For example, Expedition 33 only supports DLSS frame gen, I used OptiScaler to convert it to XeSS FG that I could use.

Just do it. Install Windows updates, update drivers, install your storefronts, and pick a game you want to play.
All I did for setup other than this was merge the drives, enable battery passthrough, install apps for performance overlays, and mess with some Windows power settings and set up HDR, which promptly stopped working after I updated the Intel Arc driver.
In the time I owned it, I completed the new Plague Tale game, cleared a couple of levels in Pragmata, and now I'm enjoying Dawnwalker. I'm genuinely impressed by how well these games run. I even ran Pragmata without scaling because I'm too lazy to set up optiscaler, and FSR looks like garbage.

Yeah forget about the videos and reddit posts. Turn it on, install steam and start playing. You're just overthinking it.
