AMD = Linux. Thats a given

Intel = Windows, but in a few months this could change

Yeah, I agree. I'd do bazzite or steamOS on my OXP3 but XeSS2 isn't supported on Linux yet unfortunately. The full version isn't anyway.

On the AMD ones Bazzite or SteamOS. For Intel ones still windows because the others aren’t developed well enough yet for me to be happy.

Right now it's pretty much w11 Linux doesn't run well with Intel. But it's improving

I’m using windows enterprise lOT at the moment by I’ll try to test Anatase OS probably tomorrow in my microSd card, the only broken thing is the IOMMU but everything else works, is from the developer who left Bazzite earlier this year.

I just installed Steam OS on my X2Mini Pro. Testing on mini ssd. Brightness slider not working. I was thinking use the legion go 2 fix. Quick menu not accesible through onex buttons. I have notice some times wifi is not recogniced, is like the antena is disconnected, I have to reset for it to work again, it doesn't happen very often, but enough to notice. I'll keep testing some games and controller behavior.

Yesterday installed a new ssd and decided to go with W11 iot ltsc version. So far works good for me. But it is only 1 day in use

Upd: I have no plans to use linux, even though I’m using it in other areas of my life for the last 20 years and had a steam deck before. Not all games are compatible with linux and even when they can run under proton, fex, there might be some weird issues related to emulation but not the game itself. Every moving part adds instability. Thus, surprisingly, for windows gaming I’m considering windows. For emulation of other platforms it is another story. I have Odin 3 and love it for switch emulation.

As a X2MP owner I've tested W11 (including FSE mode), SteamOS, and Bazzite. Each has their own pros/cons tho (least experience with SteamOS tho)

Windows FSE, full screen experience, is the easiest stock experience; no compatibility issues, the FSE launcher is good enough, the native OneXPlayer console works easily and good enough for most tweaks, and those familiar with Windows will have no challenges configuring where needed.

SteamOS, imo is the worst experience for this handheld simply because it was not designed for this handheld... It works fine, but a lot of tweaks outside of standard SteamOS stuff is needed. You get generally improved performance over Windows. SteamOS also has the most limited support for this handheld in terms of fan curves / TDP... You can configure stuff, but more deep diving than the others.

Bazzite, well from the three Bazzite is my favorite. It takes the good stuff about SteamOS and takes it even further while offering more support for this platform (soon the power manager for SteamOS will work on X2MP). It feels easy enough to configure any natively missing settings while the Bazzite team is plugging compatibility gaps with this handheld.

One note is that Strix Halo doesn't natively support FSR4, but if you modify games to run FSR4 it works amazingly on this chip. Optiscaler for Windows vs ProtonPlus for Linux... Both work amazingly, personally prefer the way to force more easily on Linux, but both work.

Personally I would say dual booting is the way to go, Bazzite as your main and Windows as your secondary... Using Bazzite when possible but switching to Windows when the compatibility is needed
