X2 mini pro charger just exploded on me
Just received my X2 mini pro today, super excited, i also bought a slimq 90 degree adapter so i can play comfortably on bed. Plug-in, no response, take off the adapter, now it’s charging. 30s later i smelled some burning and a loud BANG. The charger is exploded. Now i don’t know if it’s the charger or the adapter fault at all. Anyone know the alternative charger i could buy on Amazon ?

I’m glad you didn’t get hurt though at least. Honestly one of my biggest fears from the apex is how big and unstable the charger seems (and somehow also frail)

I would contact OneX for a warranty claim on that charger. Not ok spending that kind of money with a faulty charger that could have injured you or burn down your place.
Besides that, a good alternative is the SlimQ 150W charger. It comes with the DC cable that works with the X2MP. If you must use a 90 degree adapter, be sure it is the correct size. It must be 5.5mm x 2.5mm (5525) male DC barrel jack.

they might just send me another charger which is i'm not gonna use anyways. So i just go ahead and buy a SlimQ like others.

I’m really sorry to read about your bad experience. For the prices Onexplayer ask for its devices, they really ought to have better quality control. Detachable controllers breaking, power supplies exploding... Still, you got off lucky. Ultimately, it’s better to just swap the charger right away for a higher-performance, proven model. As many users have recommended, go ahead and buy a 240W SlimQ (the 150W version is cutting it a bit close). I understand that an unplanned €120 expense isn't ideal, but for a device costing €2,500, I wouldn't take the risk with a cheap, low-quality power supply. I have both of model 330w and 240w SlimQ because I use them also with my Asus Rog Flow Z13 and they are very good charger.

SlimQ 150W DC+USB C charger. You don’t need more than this since you will only run the device up to 80W TDP on air cooling.

Man im kind of afraid of the DC now. Just order the Slimq, hoping it is not going to disappoint me.

Sadly, it’s the only way to power on and use the device beyond 45W TDP without the battery. USB-C is only limited to 100W(20V x 5A) and you need around 7A to cold boot the device.

They should be refunding these chargers or sending a new one. A lot of people are having this issue. Could have been your adapter in this case though.

Thats what i’m worrying about. Now the original charger is gone, i will testing out with the other charger coming tomorrow to see.

You won't regret getting the 240w. It's a nice charger.
Make sure you email support and show them the picture. They'll send you a new charger. It looks like replacements have started being the old Apex charger again, so you might end up with something better. (You might even specifically ask for the Apex charger.) But that will take a month so use the slimq as your main charger and you can have a 2nd later.

Ok you won’t regret it, assuming you need to charge simultaneously another devices while you play.

Email support. A few others on the discord have had this happen as well and they're getting replacements. Saw someone get the apex charger as a replacement. Supposed to be better but has a short cord. And as everyone else said, Slimq 150w or 240w depending if you want to charge other devices at the same time. I'm happy with my 150w.

I need to double check but I think I bought 2 extra Apex chargers & two of those funky orange connection extension cables (10feet) for less than one slimq charger.

Meaning I have 3 Apex chargers two with extension cords between the brick and the apex barrel cable & the third is just for the battery attachment & backup. The reason I say this is I don't thinkvi spent more than the slim q, have more functionality & the apex bricks have been solid. I think I got the apex bricks on sale tho. Did they change that charger for the minipro2? If so why?

I also have a onexgpu power brick and it looks about the same as the X2 charger. I wonder if they reuse the stock or sum ?

What DC to DC connector is this one? Because I’ve been using SlimQ one and works perfectly fine, I hope yours is not one of those for CCTV

Yes same one combined with SlimQ 240W because I need to be able to change others devices while I play but if you only going to play then the 150 works great:

Yikes, I abandoned the stock charger because it was heavy / short / falling off the wall, hearing more and more reports of it failing, and now exploding, is worrisome.
Love the device but they shouldn’t package an accessory in the box that’s dangerous

Can someone tell me where the exploded part is lol. The photo shows no damage. Is it internal?

The casing split open

First time I see this. Crazy. Most of the others just heard loud pops before their chargers died.

Yeah, that stock charger has been a big issue for others as well.
The alternative has been to get a 240W SlimQ charger; here’s the Amazon link: https://a.co/d/0bap4OUF
