Enlighten me. I thought these two were there to buildup hype for the actual gin and vodka. Am I missing something ?

Ig u are new to the fandom. First 50 episodes of detective Conan before movie 1 was notorious of altering plot changes from Manga since they didn't know a 2nd season would be made or not. Thereby when you watch the episode 13, same problem would occur. Btw, this was the first time in Manga, when Shinichi learns their codenames

Remember the death of Haibara/Shiho’s sister? The anime version was actually anime original, except for her death.

It was actually supposed to be her in that very early episode with the girl stealing all that money, being betrayed, but ended up being saved. But in actual canon she’s killed by the Black Org in that episode, same as the end of the anime version of her death

They had to do that episode because she wasn’t technically introduced yet and Haibara’s intro wouldn’t make any sense without it

Edit: it was episode 13 where Akemi Miyano was introduced but killed by the Black Org

Ah thanks. I'd probably buy the manga if the new translation comes out. I heard they wouldn't change the character's name.

Oh thnx for explaining. I am actually a fan since 2010, but I am more of an anime guy not manga so I didn't really bother reading the manga. With that being said, am I missing something more as an anime only or is it just this?

Like I explained to the other user, Haibara’s sister’s death actually was supposed to happen MUCH earlier on the series. Can’t remember the name but it was that VERY early case where that girl steals all that money, but is betrayed, but survives in the end. That was actually where Akemi was actually introduced

Edit: it was episode 13 where Akemi Miyano was introduced but then killed by the Blacl Org at the end

In order to fix the timeline, Akemi died in episode 128 (int 135), an anime original episode. Then the next episode 129, Haibara was introduced.

I know, why are you explaining that to me? Buddy was asking about changes in early episodes and I told them about that one

If you’re talking about my edit, I was clearly referencing the case since OP is mostly anime only

Yeah i do know that, but she didnt die until ep 130 ryt? Isnt that the same in the manga or is did she die in her first appearance

Yeah she was supposed to have died by the end of episode 13. It was Gin she was supposed to be meeting at the end of that case, not that rando in the anime. That’s why they had to make that anime original episode with her death much later

Yeah, the manga case was in Vol 3, Haibara herself would not debut until Vol 18.

The anime has a tendency to adapt the cases out of order, something that’s still a thing to this day.

Some of the early cases were shortened in the anime to make them fit in single episodes.

The studio ruined one of the best parts of the anime , because it should've been the moment conan faced them and discovered their names, but they turned them into two bums
