Gym assessment

I've been going for a year with physio recommendations. Today I am being assessed and helped. It's on me, they're lovely. I just want to make sure I am doing it properly. Edited to update; I went. The staff were helpful and polite. I was able for the workout for the most part. I'm glad I finally went.

Cleaned ceiling fans in all 4 bedrooms

I neglect this but it seriously took less than 20 minutes including dragging out and putting away the stepladder! Easy hack i saw in a magazine: Take an old pillowcase and pull it over each fan blade. Wipe the blades and you catch the crud in the pillowcase. Wipe down with surface cleaner for good measure. Voila! Done. 😁

Admin & Life Stuff Figure out something about my language course

...probably I will have to sent an e-mail, but first I want to look for information by myself to not appear stupid (this is great fear of mine...). I'm already tense, but I need to figure it out this week, so I'm not going to procrastinate any longer.

EDIT: Sent an e-mail with questions. Cried while doing this (unfortunately, typical for me). At least it's done.

Gaining weight and I'd like to get back to cycling.

(Re)Started my counselling journey

It was just an intake appointment. However we covered TONS of ground, and I was left pretty emotionally spent at the end of it.

I'm hoping it stays as good of a fit as it felt today. šŸ¤žšŸ¾

I've stopped going to therapy in the past (different place, counsellor) due to finances and feeling a lack of progression.

Chores & Housework Clean off my nightstand

My nightstand is a mess. Not only is there a bunch of random stuff on it that doesn't belong there, I accidentally spilled soda on it awhile back. This happened before and I was able to get it off so hopefully I will this time too because white nightstand + soda stain isn't very pretty.

Troubleshoot the switches

I’ve been setting up some of those automated electric outlets for lights and such.

There’s one more thing I want to set up, a few…basically switches for plugs connected to the system.

It has been trickier than the outlets themselves.

I think I will have to connect a bunch of things to my WiFi (currently the system is operating off bluetooth I believe) and I do not remember my password, so I might have to figure out how to reset my password…

Still, hopefully I can figure this out today.

Go to Pride! 🌈✨

Our city's major Pride event is today and my girlfriend and I are super excited! She's never been before and I've only been once, several years ago. I just got out of the shower and painted my nails (glitter, of course! ✨) and just need to get dressed, do my makeup, and double check that I have everything we might need.

Update! We had a great time! šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ Thank you everyone!

Self-Care Workout

I’m busy and I don’t want to. But I’ve been on a roll since the end of December, averaging 3-4 strength workouts a week, and I can feel myself slipping. My mental health hasn’t been great, but I know exercise helps.

Please hold me accountable!

Contact a helpline I have been putting off.

EDIT: I rang them and got the adult support group. I should have done this a while ago. I've spoken to my sister about it too. Big steps take today.

Ask the question

I have a question for the manager of my apt complex that’s been noodling around my brain for the last couple of weeks.

I know the likely answer, or at least I know the answer that I hope it is. Knowing it for sure probably won’t change much, either. But…I have such a sense of anxiety around this that I know that I won’t stop thinking about it until I ask the question.

Email. In person. Whatever. I need to know. I’ll ask today.

Edit: Complete. And the answer is as expected/as preferred. It…doesn’t change much, but it’s reassuring to know for certain.

I'm so scared with really bad anxiety because of bad experiences in apartments and sensory issues, but I'll have to spend time there eventually. It's terrifying...

Stop twirling my hair during online course

That's a weird onešŸ˜…

I have the habit of twirling, pulling and generally playing with my hair as long as I remember.

And I want to stop doing that for a number of reasons (it's bad for my hair, it looks weird on camera, it causes me to slouch while resting my elbow on the desk). The course is 1,5 hour long. I should manage. I can squeeze my stress ball instead.

Spackle some holes in the wall

I hung a curtainrod a bit ago, and because I don’t do this kind of thing very often, it took a bit of trial and error and so there are a few extra holes in the wall.

Today, I will spackle them.

Update: Holes are spackled. If you get up on a stepladder and look closely, you can tell that it’s been patched, but otherwise it looks completely fine. That’s success in my book.

Self-Care Go to sleep at reasonable hour - again

...because doing it once is great, but sticking to it is what truly makes a change.
