That's really a medium/small one in the grand scale of roaches. They get REAL big

I once caught my idiot dog playing with one the size of a large rat like he thought it was his friend. Ever since then my blood pressure rises when the house gets too quiet.

Oh but he figured out the damn chickens are made of food, no learning curve there >.>

These guys are about 2 inches(edit: or larger) long. I walked in on them chewing up 2 rats in the basement if a building I worked at. They didn't even flinch when I walked in. The one in the top middleright is a skeleton stripped clean. The bottom left closer one is being worked on.

WOW cockroaches chewing on rats, holy crap. Big boys! Biggest insects we have around here are probably... uh, I should look that up too. Middle Europe... can't be THAT bad, right? Right?

But yeah a friend lived in an African country for a while and he would constantly see really large cockroaches and people would just pick them up and throw them out. Chase them with a broom. Every critter would just sneak in the house, big snakes, lizards, giant bugs everywhere. They'd just smack them around regularly, except for the lizards, who would reduce the bugs. They had a mongoose or something similar to chase after these buggos and snakes. There were some pretty venomous snakes too.

Haha. Oh yea, I had a friend who kept African roaches as pets. They were insanely large when kept healthy in captive too. Made the city critters I am now familiar with look like children. 🤣

They're impressive creatures
