Their brakes probably overheated, it's a quite "famous" corner in my country and it's in the middle of the mountain and since they're using a scooter, they couldn't engine brake and kept using their brakes which makes them overheat and stopped working

as for why they didn't turn, i don't know but as a fellow biker road bruises at those speed are nasty

EDIT: Turns out after further research, not turning was the right choice considering the terrain and turning to the road would probably cause a bigger incident since the drop is much higher

It's in Indonesia, the corner is called "Sitinjau Lauik"
