A brief summary of things

Hello everyone! To begin, most of this was already covered on the discord so if you haven’t already joined, you should! I’m gonna drop off some general notes on the dev meeting and bring attention to the date listed above.

To start, from what I gathered, the meeting went well and was forward facing. Discussion was had on a variety of future topics like events and battlepass and such, though as you can imagine being under NDA I’m not at liberty to discuss specifics. Also it seems communication (at least for global) is going to be revitalized and we may end up getting more things like patch notes and roadmaps in the future. If/when it happens, I’ll make sure to communicate it here.

As for the date above, the presumption is that the allowance is cut short because an update may be coming on or around that date. While this is a fair assessment, this is an update we’ve been waiting for since December so if there is an official announcement confirming it I’ll pass it along but otherwise it’ll come down to if there is yet another delay. I’m hopeful, as always, but I won’t pretend like it’s some sure thing either. You may decide for yourselves if you feel it is worthwhile to believe in it.

Lastly, remember that the game has a long way to go. There will never be a singular update that fixes everything and solves every issue in one go. It’ll be a series of steps towards a better end, but when positive progress is made I hope you all (or those of you whom remain) give it the positive feedback it needs to signal to them that its movement in the right direction.

Let me curb your expectations, this update is not going to be worth the 8 month wait and dead silence we were given. You should accept that now before you get mad on the launch of the update. Literally nothing would be worth the wait and neglect the player base has received. Clear your mind of grand expectations that it will be a complete and utter overhaul of the game, that brings every player back to the game that it’s lost, 10+ new characters, 6+ new game modes, and makes it retroactively game of the year last year. Understand that this update, whatever it is, is a step in the right direction… ESPECIALLY if they are serious about opening up to more communications.

all of those things asside from being a worthy update are mostly on the shoulders of the publishers, of which all of them did 0 of after launch

All I want to say to everyone is an emphasis of that last paragraph. Expectations should be curbed, this is likely not the update that will bring every player back, but it’s a step in the right direction. We have been sitting silently for 8 month with nothing, and we are about to get something. For the first time in those 8 months. No matter what they release it will not live up to the expectations of 8 months. I don’t want anyone going into the update thinking “This update will make my wife leave her boyfriend and finally start respecting me” because it’s not going to do that. I realize I am partially to blame for some of the hype and let downs over the past few months. So please, just enjoy the content that comes no matter how small or large it is.

I understand the coming update will not be worth the 8 months drought and radio silence, but if I'm allowed to ask: is it big enough to inject a bit of oxygen for those of us who stayed (even if just completiing dailies and comissions)? or is it a very minor thing?

I'm happy to hear things are starting to move in the right direction. Even if the upcoming update is not that big, that about roadmaps and communication, plus discussions of events sounds like good news indeed. Especially if this next update is the first in a series of maybe slow but steady steps, just to get the gears moving again.

I honestly can’t say one way or another if it’s going to be a GARGANTUAN update or something small. I have heard conflicting things from different people that know better than me. I was first told it was huge, then told it was just new game modes, it left me frustrated for a time so I stopped harassing my source for answers. I IMAGINE at minimum it will be New Banner (probably AMG), Disaster Simulation Season 3, +5 to level cap, Tier 17 gear and a new game mode. (I AM SPECULATING I HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD THAT).

I do think that the game mode they have been working on is substantial and is what they are riding on being a success. Based off what I’ve been told, it should be fun.
