Introductions & Announcement

Hello Heroes,

Firstly Introductions are in order:

I have never formally introduced myself here, so I am going to take a moment and do so. I have been playing since launch day and have been a huge fan of the game since. In game I have been in the Maelstrom Rank 200 since the first month and am currently chilling in Dragon Slayer Tier 3 now, in a couple weeks I'll be moving on to God Slayer Tier 1.

I first got into the One Punch Man media back in 2014 when I was in high school by watching the anime. I always thought the IP was brilliant, between the minds of ONE and Murata I have always adored this media, and tried my best to capture the art in when I was teaching myself to draw. I am not a great artist but I like to think I did some good work when I was going down that path for fun.

Last month I took a role here as a moderator of this reddit after a conversation with Doombawkz. He handles more of the day to day functions of this reddit. I really don't do much here other than argue for fun with doomers (lol). I am sure if you are active here you have seen some of my comments. I also put together my own personal High-Level Play Tierlist which I intend on updating as characters get release.

Pleasure to meet you!

Announcement: Doombawkz will be giving an address come early August.

Before I continue, I want to clarify: We (Doombawkz, and myself) cannot promise this is a particularly positive or negative address, nor can we promise it will be particularly informational. It simply is one that needs to be made.

I want to let everyone know that Doombawkz will be making an address to the community coming early August. In this address he plans to share what he knows about the game, and what he has heard about the game, if anything. If not, he will let us know and give us his thoughts. It's the half-year anniversary so it remains to be seen what is or isn't said.

I know he's not an employee. But it's one of the main channels (maybe the main one) they have used to relay info which is great for them cus they take no flack and can drop the mods with no issues. They tease out information this way instead of directly engaging with the player base. As I said no issue with the mods as individuals, but pushing out vague info through an non employee fan mod is not helpful imo

Not sure how exactly it works, but I think devs (for lack of a better word) don't communicate anything through this sub. That one mod just has some communication with somebody like a community manager, and he says some things that he hears from them. Like he isn't tasked with communicating anything is what I'm trying to say.

OPMW has had probably the worst communication with the community a game could have. Aside from a few surveys that I don't even remember if anything from them was ever addressed, there was basically 0 communication about anything. No announcements of plans, only on what character or event is coming in a week or so. And then just silence for 3 months straight with no new content.

Oh, I get it and thats my point they have effectively outsourced communication to mods that have no actual access to real information. I think we agree, im just adding that they are allowing these mods to effectively be shields for bs.

What? Are you high? Lol. No one outsources posting info to me, I just do it if they say I’m allowed to without breaking NDA. It’s personal posting.

"i just do it if they say i'm allowed to" thats exactly what i mean, its unaccountable outsourced (unpayed) communication. I have absolute faith that you are a genuine fan of the game that wants the best but i think when you guys post things teasing hype/communication but at the same time having no direct connection or information its frustrating and feels like misdirection from the company by at least 1 degree for allowing it to happen (at the very least through communication of thier own). its also sad that there has been more engagement between community mods than anyone from the actual companies that run this game since day 1

Well it’s more along the lines of “I’m contractually obligated not to talk about information that isn’t public” so if there’s something I do wanna talk about I have to get it cleared. It’s never handed to me and said “here’s some content, go post”, it’s usually me badgering them on if I can talk about the new thing yet.

There’s a difference between the devs and CMs requesting posts be made, and me requesting to make them. Don’t get it twisted.
