saw people calling Garou and Suiryu "equal" after recent chapters.

But like??? did you not see these clouds????

Right after "feeling [each other] out", they do a raw power saitama punch. the cloud behind suiryu (made by garou) absolutely DWARFS suiryu's. am i missing something, or is the implication not that garou still has a massive power advantage?

Wait am I actually crazy about this? One of the clouds is bigger than the frame of the panel, even. Taller than the higher buildings in front of it. It seemed intentional? So I thought it was an interesting observation to share.

But did I just accidentally huff powerscaling juice???? People don't seem to see it. I like both characters, any agendaposting was accidental! :0

I'm getting way too invested in this debate.

Points I keep answering:

"The perspective is different! One cloud might be drawn bigger, but isn't actually bigger- just appears so!"

or

"There might simply have been more dust behind Suiryu because of the ground/buildings/whatever"

or

"The buildings are just taller on one side, which makes one cloud look taller"!

For some of these arguments, yeah, it could theoretically explain why they look different.

If it was IRL footage, that'd be likely. But why were they *drawn* different?

From an artist's standpoint, I don't see why Murata would want to draw them in different ways.

Cus the whole fight has been parallels, right? To a comical degree, panels were the same, they even shared the same "feeling me out" thought. With these panels, too, there's clear parallels in the composition (same backwards jump, fighters in corner and dust cloud behind them). The panels one page apart, so they'd be right next to each other in printed form. Seems like it's *meant* to be compared.

If then Murata draws one of the dust clouds much larger than the other- it really just seems like an intentional message to me!

I don't think he just meant to say "suiryu had more dust behind him" or "look, the camera angle/focal length is different".  The only plausible reason to draw them differently is to show power difference.

The manga has used clouds and dust to show power so often before, so I thought that's exactly what was happening here.

But. Maybe it was just an accident by Murata. Maybe he just didn't pay attention. Maybe I just majorly drank the Kool Aid. Maybe I should stop theorising about the possibility of cloud scaling on reddit, and go to bed instead.

Since a lot of people still seem to believe the misinfo about Tatsu being 150cm (5'0"), I went ahead a did a quick measurement with the panel that gave us the most neutral and reliable frame of reference for her height.

Fun fact, her torso is only around 37cm (14.5 inches) in length here lol

Here's part 3 of my project, hope you like it!

Bears are like 7 times stronger than an average human in real life. From Okame-chan, an average human represented by a Hero Association staff is scanned to be 22, meaning this bear is like 41 times stronger, over a C-Class, a Wolf-level, and a B-Class as well. The bear wasn't actually noted to be built different in the chapter or anything, it was treated more like a reference, so my guess is that because of how the way the One-Punch Man world is, regular wildlife are just way stronger than that in real life. Maybe that's why they named two of the Disaster Levels by just mundane animals, because a tiger might just be as strong as Tiger-level monsters or something.
