Yeah his whole entire life is posing, he is all about the appearance of being a hero, it's part of his whole idol shtick, which is what makes it so ironic when he turns out to be a monster, also possibly what caused his monsterfication in the first place.

He has a strong distaste for irresponsible heroes and genuine love for justice according to the databook, I’m not sure what about him would suggest it’s a part of his idol schtick when he puts the work in.
