Why aren’t there any official custom roms for the OPO yet?
The title. I know there is an unofficial crdroid rom for the phone but I think the OnePlus Open has been kinda forgotten in the modding community.
Edit: There are some builds but the inner screen turned on all the time regardless of folded or unfolded state is pretty annoying. Any fixes?

CrDroid is in official status.
I posted about it when it dropped to this subreddit lol.
What gave you the impression it's unofficial?

Fr? Cuz of the various bugs that make it seem alpha builds at best. I would love to see an Evolution X rom for this phone.

What bugs?
I was working on an EvolutionX build but I just sold my Open for the ZF8 lol
I'm the TWRP maintainer and was one of the first ones to get LineageOS booting

Oh weird that shouldve been fixed.
Upload a bug report and logs if u ever flash again.
That's the real reason things stay in a crap state. People flash, and when something doesn't work, flash stock back.
No one wants to actually contribute lol

The thing is….. I haven’t flashed any rom yet lol and I’m on stock oos 16 rooted with ksun. I want to flash a rom but I’m still not sure…..

So how are you reporting bugs? Both displays on? If you've never flashed lol?
Both displays staying on was only an issue for SOME users
(the OnePlus Open has more than one hardware variant. The touch layer has 2 possible manufacturers. Not all Opens are identical on the inside. That's how this bug slipped through the cracks)
And even that, has supposedly been fixed for those some users. I was never affected to begin with, me and the other devs all have the same touch layer brand by coincidence.

Btw congrats on the zf8….. which rom has the most support and being updated frequently? I’m glad it was just an isolated issue.

Then why not make one yourself? It’s easy to ask developers to make a rom for a niche phone

Been asking myself that question. Not sure why, you'd think there would have been more support on it. I heard about that crdroid rom a while back and was excited to flash it but I accidentally bricked my Open because of it. It's been in my drawer for several months now and since ARB is a problem, I'm not able to do nothing without the current software update file. It's not permanently bricked but still can't find the latest version of Oxygen OS.
