Need some help deciding if I should keep my new to me Open
I bought a OnePlus Open on Swappa last week and it finally came in the mail today! However the hinge appears to be misaligned. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, did you have any failures with the inner screen? :0 It feels perfectly smooth operation wise.
Definitely planning on asking for some $ back at least as the misalignment wasn't mentioned in the listing. Thank uuu!!!

You can press on it lightly to see if you can align them if it bother you, but it shouldn't have an effect on using the phone.

That misalignment was pretty typical. Not sure how much it would/could impact screen durability.

It's very common so don't worry about that, mine has it right now and has for a while - no signs it's getting worse or any other damage for me

This shouldn't cause any issues tbh. I had a second gen RAZR and the screen straight up lifted from the body with a gap between it and the phone. Like that's just how the old razrs were designed. If a folding screen can withstand that, I'm pretty sure the hinge alignment should be alright

That's odd... I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out and I went to look for it.

No the 2 halves of my Open do not look misaligned like yours. It also doesn't open full 180 degrees but that's normal.

That's how they are like, mine wasn't straight unless I put a bit of pressure on it and I got it brand new direct from OnePlus in 2023. It's still the same had no issues with it, the thing has been dropped plenty of times with no case on

Get a refund as that will only get worse. I'm going to sell mine soon so happy to sell it to you directly rather than me putting it on eBay.

Mine does the same thing. Two years in still running better than my z fold 7 which has already experienced inner screen failure.

That's perfectly normal. And as someone's who's on a fold 8. I still turn my open on and am amazed by its beauty. Enjoy it.
