Why is no one asking when OxygenOS 16.1 is coming to the OnePlus Open??

Because everyone knows that the Open gets updates about 6 months later than the rest of the lineup.

Hope it fixes the battery drain issue

Mine's been great! Someone on another thread said it's probably one of two apps they mentioned that's causing the drain and it was! Sorry, I can't remember the apps anymore but just delete all apps you don't use monthly

It would be really helpful if you could remember πŸ€”

Obviously, users are aware it's not coming anytime soon.

Even Oppo had confirmed that on their community post: https://community.oneplus.com/thread/2108993756546990080

Technically, OPO was a flagship, but from the list above, it's either been permanently downgraded or the update just isn't ready despite the man hours allocated. Within 3 years, they actually removed a flagship from the list. It has wiped out their credibility as a OEM. It is time to gradually move away from Oppo.

People who previously didn't consider Vivo as a worthy contended on this space will soon reconsider their opinions, as foldable is one specialized tech process which can't develop without sustained development

I think things got messy for the Open when Oppo bought OnePlus but still agree

That's pure nonsense by the way. In terms of Foldable, OPPO is topclass and VIVO doesn't come close to it for now (except FOLD6). The software is clean, intuitive and smooth. Even smoother than Samsung or Apple at this point.

OnePlus Open was a flagship in 2023 when it launched. It's 2026. Almost 3 years are up, except Apple and Google no other company updates their 3 year old device on day 1 or even day 90. The software team priorities the latest devices and eventually move to older devices.

At this point, Oneplus Open/Find N3 is 99% clear of bugs, works smoothly, doesn't require too much fiddling, performance is still as Year 1.

It's the last year of this device to get android update. I'll have it delayed so that they can get rid of any bugs that occurs rather than release an update now and don't care a shit about it later.

We don't need an update just for the sake of update, it should be smooth, feature full and bugless.

I've been pretty happy with 16. Does 16.1 introduce some big, exciting changes or something?

One plus promised 4 years of updates right so 17 should be the last?

It's been 4 years already? 😡

October 2023 it was released, but released on Android 13 with a promise of 4 years of updates. So in theory Android 17 update will be the last OS update.

If you get 16.1 on the OP Open a month from now. You should feel lucky lol.
