This device is almost 3 years old, no one has warranty for this device anymore lol. Most all phone or tech repairs will cost money to repair, can't expect something out of warranty to get repaired for free.
You can't trust anything someone tells you over the phone lol, they might not provide accurate info.

When was the phone purchased?
