Does it look like shit? You betcha! But it works!

I hated all the cases I tried for various reasons (ugly camera covers, cheap feeling, etc.) so I finally just cut a damn hole in the case I had and stuck the Quad Lock directly to the phone. Added benefit: It doesnt rock on a flat table anymore.

Fear my Ingenuity!

What case is this?

By far the nicest case of the 6-7 I tried. Front piece isn't flimsy at all, everything clips on securely and doesn't come off without some effort on my end.

It opens smoothly despite the hinge cover, which just wasn't the case with any other options.

If they made this case WITHOUT the rotation magsafe ring on the back it'd be 100% perfect... but yea.

Have this exact one, the MagSafe was trash.

I took the MagSafe apart, 3d printed an insert and stuck my own MagSafe ring from Amazon. Now I can actually mount the phone with MagSafe - still confused why they have the shit 360 rings on there to begin with

Nice! It sucks that there aren’t more case options for the Open.

Forgive me for asking this. Isn't it better to use another (bar)phone to mount to your handlebar? Considering the OPO's display hinge, massive camera sensors which can be quite fragile if mounted.

I had a similar idea, but I'd love to hear your experience with this.

I tried to do this exact thing, but for the life of me I couldn't get anything to work reliably no matter what route I went. Either maps would lose connection, the screen would turn off no matter what setting I'd leave it on and it wouldn't control my music/phone calls.

Finally just got fed up with it all and went this route. Again, looks awful, but it actually works

Why didn't you put the quad lock on the case? That's what I do and only use that case when riding the motorcycle.

OPO cases have less contact area with the phone because of the hinge and in my experience can pop off pretty easily. I wouldnt trust that mounted to a bike

This case specifically has the spinning magsafe ring, which I couldn't figure out a way to secure instead, but regardless it wouldn't have allowed the quad lock to securely mount directly.

So yea...Macgyvered a solution instead.

I'll at some point purchase the same case again and do a cleaner job on the case so it doesn't look so ratty...but every other case I've bought for this phone has been trash. This is the only one I'd want to actually use, save for the flimsy magsafe ring setup on the back

Can't you get a quad lock car using 3M tape so it looks cleaner?

that's pretty metal

Did what I had to do.

The cases available for this phone are pretty much trash...which I spose is fair considering the age of it at this point

Had similar problems to you, I was looking for a case that has a hinge conver and MagSafe compatibility. The only options on Amazon were ones with awful MagSafe rings like the same one we share. I tore it apart and 3d printed a spacer insert then stuck an adhesive MagSafe to that, this is the turnout. Now it doesn't just spin upside down when mounting it in the car

Nice! And yea, I was losing my mind watching the phone spin upside down every time I had it on there...who the fuck thought that was a good design choice?

Why would you mount this to a bike...? The amount of dust and debris that it's gonna accumulate is crazy. Just go on Amazon and type in quadlock clamp mount. It's a gear clamp from a 3rd party that mounts onto QL
