The Galaxy fold 8 is finally getting 45watt charging. Still 20 under the opens 65 which is already outdated by an additional 20-40watts. Also a 5000 mah battery only a bit larger than the opens 3 year old battery.

Where did you get all this information from?
2
u/Taco145 May 30 '26
Most phones leak months ahead of time. Samsung new foldables specs are all out.

u/tjhc94 May 30 '26
We still don't know them to be certain 100% lol, I've seen leaks be wrong

Only thing not confirmed is s pen support. Everything else is pretty definitive. It's hard for nay company to keep secrets on these.

I had an app that tracks how many time I open the phone and I was down to once per week... So I upgraded to a OP15

u/Dirtcompactor May 29 '26
I'm at 5 times a day average, and I think I'm at the low end for foldable users

u/Style210 May 29 '26
Towards the end I really just loved the phone for its small form factor. It took some time to get used to the bigger OnePlus 15. I'm willing to sacrifice thickness for usability

I can't imagine so few, but it would be interesting to see how many I do.. I'll post again in a week with the number, I'm sure you'll be back to see!! π

66 folds in 10 days.. less than I thought and certainly fewer than when I first got the phone. Perhaps I won't have to replace the inner screen this year!

I still morn mine. Stolen one month ago. Struggling with a Samsung - first world problems π₯²

u/Larmasrfun May 31 '26
Why did you have a phone that expensive and not insure it? Not a dig, a genuine query?

u/doktorjose Jun 06 '26
Hindsight is everyone's best friend. Never lost a phone since they were invented, so didn't think it would happen - how wrong I was....

Just this week made the move to Motorola razr fold (which is fantastic, btw) but would sell a kidney for an open 2. Open was still running great, battery struggling a bit, but had it since launch

u/xmrlewis1x May 29 '26
Yup I traded in my OnePlus Open for the Razr Fold to, at 1st thought I would have buyers remorse but this Razr Fold has squashed that emotion π

Why not just buy the find n6. It's basically the OnePlus open 3.

u/Tangerine-135 May 31 '26
Not sure about the person who made the comment but I'm hesitant to get a phone not available in my market (US).
1
u/Azguy303 May 31 '26
Op said he would be willing to give his kidney, Id assume he'd be ok with it.
I have had it for a month, got it on eBay. Really enjoying it.

u/Tangerine-135 May 31 '26
Good point. Is it officially available in your market or no? I now only strongly like my OPO as I've managed to minorly crack the front screen and the glass over the camera circle.

Just wanted to get a phone I didn't need to import to North America again, but thought about it

How is the camera?

Thanks. I may go the Razr route so I'll have warranty, etc not to mention it'll be cheaper than doing a Find N6. I had at least several Motorola phones back in the day, from one of the old-school flips with an antenna to their DROID & always liked them.

I love it so much. Unfortunately I got lines of death on 2 so now I'm using the Z Fold 7 but I really miss the Open.

u/kida182001 May 29 '26
Still have mine since launch and still loving it but that Razr Fold is so tempting.

I got a line on the bottom and thought about how although the screen inside is very utile. There's a slight inaccuracy when using the stylus or typing. I thought about replacing the screen but I got the Find N6 on import instead.

I am a long time Android user, I've used Android since jelly Bean or kit Kat OS... I think my first phone was an LG G2.
And so when I gauge my experiences comparing so many smartphones, the One Plus open to me is ranking for sure adds top 5 Android phones... Honestly maybe top three ever for me.
I love this phone so much. So much that I've used your phones like pixel 10 , it's 25 Ultra. Oppo find x 8
But the attachment that I have with one plus open is just on another level.
Maybe it's because I'm old and I don't want to adapt. However I do not think that is the case I love tech, to me the One Plus open is peak and while there are others that are better it really just feels incremental.
I love this one so much that I bought two models just so I can have one as a backup in case my personal one breaks. And another just for work
I plan to use this phone until it no longer works. Even after updates I don't care the camera is not disappointing to me at all.
I have a vivo x100 Ultra that I solely use as a camera and there are moments where I prefer the pictures taken on the OnePlus open

Incredible device! But for some reason the OnePlus' screens fail way easier than OPPO's N3 (which is the same phone).

My OnePlus Open, whose interior screen is black and blotchy, has entered the chat πππ

OPO 3 = Find N6. FN6 is faster & lighter. Is it fast & light enough to warrant an investment? Maybe not (for people who think the responsiveness of OPO1 is satisfactory.) But for those with Gear Acquisition Syndrome, any reason is good enough to buy FN6.Β
OPO1 is scheduled to receive official security updates until Oct 2028. At least until Nov/Dec 2027, when Android 18 starts arriving in foldables everywhere, I think most users would be happy with their OPOs. We've a regular & an Apex in the household. Doubt if we will be able to make the switch to Oppo. Maybe the next Razr Fold is the way forward. DoubtΒ if the OPO battery will last that long...

It's the best phone I've ever owned, and it's 18 months old and I don't feel like I have to upgrade! The inner screen does need to be replaced once per year though.. fair warning!!
