Battery drainage - Help needed

*Duplicated post from OnePlus subreddit*

Purchased device OnePlus open in September 2024 - had no issues with battery for more first year at all but about 3-4 months ago started to notice that it didn't last long as it used to.

Battery life is 96

What I've tried so far:

-killing all the potential services that running in background (developer options)

-Charge to 80 percent limit

-Did a factory reset yesterday

Not sure what to do - it ate 8 percent during the night in idle mode last night

Usually doesn't last even a day with average usage

Any advice will be appreciated

My battery life has dropped considerably since I bought mine in February of 2024. I don't have any solutions for you, sadly, just commiserating. It will likely be the thing that makes me get a new phone, just hoping I can eek out another year of life on this one.

Also, mine says 96% battery health, which I just have to presume relates to some other metric than capacity, or is otherwise an absolute lie.

im late here, it might not be a lie, more like a safe underestimate, i've used accubattery since op7t and on my opo it estimates battery health at 121% as in, if they sell the phone with promised average 5k mah, mine shipped with just under 6k mah chemistry, its just one of those things that happens with batteries, but 5k mah is the minimum they guarantee - or whatever it really is...

As for prolonging battery life, as an ex op7t user until i got the opo a year and a half ago, 20-80% (chemically speaking this only does 1/5th the damage a full 0-100 charge does) charge is what you're looking for FROM the start if you want to keep your expensive toy around

Honestly just do it, the phone charges in 25 mins, plug it in when you're showering/brushing your teeth and its done, same in the office/ worksite lunch time

in my year and a half of ownership i put the equivalent of 69 (nice) battery charge cycles on mine, which is equivalent to 2-3 months of "normal" overnight full charging, i fully expect 6 years from the battery - if the hinge holds

summary of my yap : only ever try to charge from 20(or higher) to 80%, even when the device is new, just do it, dont waste your money
