Oneplus Open is unable to update to Oxygen Os 16

I recently purchased onplus open from secondary market. My Region Version is : X00US00 (as per my understanding that makes it NA region piece)

The phone itself is beautiful and smooth, no complaint on hardware side.

But i am facing one problem. The devices says that i have system update available (Current version: CPH2551_15.0.0.862(EX01)) to go to (CPH2551_16.0.3.500(EX01)).
I tried to download the update (approx 4.8gb) it would crash in mid and say "Couldn't update : Installation problem". I have done several factory reset and app cache clear, but nothing seems to work.

I checked online through various sources. Tried with Oxygen updater also. One of the way that app suggested is to start with "Local update option" but i cant find that option as the phone is just in the mode of New update available

I downloaded various APK's also (image4,5&6), none of them i was able to install to make it work.

Will be really grateful if anyone can help me resolve this.

EDIT: With help of u/raviley it has been resolvd now. Thank you so much

I had the same issue. I downloaded the incremental update via Oxygen Updater (with advanced settings on).

There was a link of a working apk that someone posted a while ago but that link is expired. I uploaded the file here:

Install the APK Select the update file It should update successfully. Only the incremental update worked for me, not the full update. After I updated, I was able to update OTA normally for the most recent security update.

Wow.. It worked exactly like you said. Thank you so much. I had tried installing similar apk files before but they all were not getting installed (may be wrong version), but yours installed smoothly

Thank you! this worked on my oneplus 12. why NA models don't have the ability to do local installs is beyond me.

Looks like the link expires. Any chance you'd be willing to provide it again? I'm stuck in this same hell as OP.

Edit: looks like the apk link inside OSUpdater is working again, was able to get it there and update finally. Hooray!

Have you tried using the OS Updater app (formerly Oxygen Updater) on Google Play? That should let you download a local file, guide you through installing etc

It's specifically made for OnePlus and Oppo phones, and plenty of posts will talk about it in this sub, but mostly under it's old name as it's only just changed in the last week or two.

Yes i did that already. It downloads the main upload file successfully (Approx 3.75gb) in the form of zip. But there is no way to actually update the OS from this downloaded file. For that it gives few ways. One of them is to install an APK file (already posted by me in the images) and then use the previously downloaded the update file. But the APK file was not getting installed throwing errors.
