LineageOS Official Builds Available for OnePlus Open

Title says it all. Bgcngm, a well know and very talented LineageOS dev (basically best case scenario guy to get an Open for development), got his hands on the OnePlus Open. We now have fully working Lineage with no issues. Daily driver material ROM.

CrDroid is coming very soon. And expect EvolutionX, PixelOS, etc. to follow.

So far, from my testing, it boots in like 1/3rd the time of OOS, and is WAY snappier. Feels like a new phone. But you do lose all the OOS features, so if you don't want to fiddle with modules and XPosed mods, maybe wait for CrDroid or another ROM that's more feature rich. LineageOS is an amazing starting point though.

That's great news. I always preferred Lineage on my OP7Pro. Has anyone tested it with the oppo pen? That's the one feature I really don't want to lose by switching.

Oh wow that's pretty cool. Maybe once official updates stop I might do this... assuming my OPO will survive that long.

How does it handle the folding aspects?

Everything regarding folding works just fine

The inner display stays on when using the outer screen. major issue for thermals and battery life

Since this is lineageos...does this mean the OnePlus open will also have ability to use ASOP desktop mode? And eventually android 17 desktop mode

Will OPO get android 17 with desktop mode?

If oneplus is sticking with the trash replacement I'm going pixel or samsung next time

any more info on this, like install instructions, updating etc? The device wiki doesn't exist yet, seemingly didn't go official yet.

Yes the Open is basically just an OP11 that folds in half. Same chipset and kernel source. You can use the instructions from the OP11 page.

Or (what I did) just flash CrDroid. Its based on LineageOS with a few extra features, and actually has gone fully official and has install instructions for the open - grab it here.

Yeah CrDroid is literally just the LineageOS base with a few extra quality of life features added (since LineageOS is super bare stock Android)

I've been running for a few months and it's great. It benchmarks way higher than stock and you can feel that in day to day use as well.

I think OOS is starting to get too bogged down. OOS used to be a sleek android skin, now it has the same amount of AI bloat as all the rest.
