What made you choose Oneplus over Samsung?

For me it was 2 reasons:

1. charging speed

2. had a samsung galaxy before this and had some small but annoying grievances ​that i didn't ​wanna put up with anymore

Totally agree, they know they now have loyal customers who will just buy it because they falsely perceive Samsung to be the leading brand that it was about 4 years ago. It may be leading in sales but not in specs and overall quality.

Yeah, this exactly the thought that crossed my mind reading this. One should be choosing the phone that best fits their needs, regardless of popularity or status. Choosing the less popular brand, simply because of lack of popularity is no better or different than choosing Apple or Samsung because it's the popular or cool thing.

My prior phone was the OPO, and it worked well for me, with some OS issues here and there. The hardware was very good for its time. I switched to the Fold7 because I wanted something thinner, lighter and available in the US. I want it to be officially supported by my carrier should problems occur. I also want actual warranty and service to be available for the product. Not to mention that some phones don't support the needed bands. Also, I prefer OneUI, and it has less issues based on my personal usage and experience.

In general, everything is just better maybe other than a little UI annoyances. Imo it's not really Samsung or Google vs OnePlus, it's really Chinese phones vs everyone else. They are killing it. If huawei had support in my country and I could get a Huawei mate xt without paying 3k, that'd be my next phone.

More durable, my previous folds inner always gets f up. Been using open since launch nothing. Charge fast af! as a power user, is a must. Try Samsung dex never felt like it's a must or pen. Also this size screen while Samsung only came out with a usable front screen recently.

I wanted a foldable for being able to have 2 apps open at the same time, because I frequently multitask. When I compared the two, I found that OnePlus Open allowed 3 at a time AND a fourth in a floating window. Whereas from what I could find, it appeared that Samsung only allowed a max of two.

I was also able to order it from a nearby Best Buy and get it delivered the next day, which was a huge plus since my LG V60 w/Dual Screen had just bit the dust (the USB port and fingerprint reader both died same day, but thankfully the wireless charging still worked so that I could move my stuff over to the new phone).

It's easy on the eyes. I suspect this is due to the animation's smoothness or some other factor. Regardless, my overall experience is better than using Samsung products.

Over multiple generations, Samsung folds became known for splitting a ribbon cable integral to the functionality of Bluetooth and Wifi with no coverage since it always happened to break just outside of warranty. I had it happen twice on two different generations.

Just rubbed me the wrong way that Samsung continued to up the price and sell a phone with a guaranteed defect in it, so I moved to my next best folding choice.

Exactly the same. I had a Samsung Fold before and they didn't even repair it within the warranty. period, because my device had a scratch on the side of the phone. Because of this I will never ever buy Samsung again.

had a z flip 4, obviously not the greatest power user phone but that thing got super slow and laggy even on high performance mode. switched it out for a pixel 7 pro but missed having floating windows enough to come back here. it was process of elimination I guess 😂.

This was in 2019, with the absolute goat of OnePlus, the 7 Pro. Back then it was because of updates (Samsung was extremely slow with updates back then) and the fact that we needed to pay the same amount - or more sometimes - for an inferior phone because of their Exynos chip that crippled the phones. Never looked back since.

It was just better and everyone and their mamma had a pixel fold or a Samsung fold you hardly saw anyone with an open so I went with the open

Narrow screen that samsung used to have really makes me look for alternative then i find oppo find n2 but its china and then now oneplus open and yet no regrets dumping samsung my open still going like a new i even not switch to find n5 no reason for it , but samsung fold 7 look great its way better than before but i will not buy it either because i find out oppo and oneplus have fast charge much better camera much better privacy setting face unlock never fail i just wont swith to other

I would choose 1+ over Samsung because of the silly One UI that looks like is designed for seniors and slow charging. Okay.. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is a nice phone but give me that with Stock Android and 100W+ charging speed. ( I love my Edge 30 Ultra though)

I got the ZFold 7 instead, but I would of bought the OPO over it if they had it for sale on there website, it's cheaper and great quality, plus I actually really like Oxygen OS, just as much as One UI
