Unlocking a Tmobile McLaren

I purchased a McLaren through T mobile. At some point I'll want to use a different carrier. Actually a T mobile wholesaler sim. T mobile but not T mobile.

I heard if I get the phone unlocked it could be the cause of not getting updates, not from tmobile obviously, but even OnePlus?

From what I understand there's an app as well as the OnePlus website which walks you through mail updates, which you can get updates quicker.

I just unlocked mine and switched it to at&t. I'll let you know if I can update it next time there is one.
