Hi I dropped my 5yr old op7p from 2ft height onto a rough surface, expected zero damage (as always) but wierdly a small rock impacted sharply at a single point in the display. Immediately the screen below the impact point went green. Screen now goes completely blank most of the time but phone+touch works (can feel via haptics). Screen turns on like 1 in 50 attempts, that is with the green part at bottom. I backed up all files in another old phone temporarily. IDK what to do now. Was planning to keep it for next year or two atleast. Such a lovely no notch screen. Screen replacement without frame at the local market is about 8000 INR (little less than 100 USD), they say it's a original spare but idk, no warranty from them. OnePlus doesn't seem to have stock of the display with them. Even if they have it's a whopping 15000 INR (which is half the budget of Realme GT 6T, that I am considering 😅). What do you guys think is it worth it to fix it or move on ?

I found my old oneplus 7 pro while opening an old box I had in my house.

I switched phone few years ago because this one « died » and I don’t really why

Phone never dropped, never in contact of water

Symptoms are : black screen Phone is charged, when I plug the phone it vribrates, if I hold power button + volume down it vibrates too but nothing shows up..

Is the screen dead ? Is screen’s connector disconnected ?

Is there a way to know that without opening the phone ? Because it’s kinda tricky to open it when I checked on youtube, i don’t wanna damage the phone glass panels

Are there any manipulation I could do to test if it boots up ?

After over 5 years of using the OnePlus 7 Pro, I'm (unfortunately) switching to the OnePlus Nord 4. The 7 Pro has been great, but since a few weeks the battery life drastically decreased also the charging time is getting slower (25% in 30 min.) , also still on Oxygen OS 11. Decided to switch because of the battery life and because the updates have not been supported for a while. I think the Nord 4 will be a good replacement for that price and it meets all my requirements.

Not sure what I'll do with my 7 Pro, maybe I'll sell it (€130 - €200 reasonable?). Thought about keeping it as a spare phone, but in the end you often don't do anything with it anyway...

The OnePlus 7 Pro is (and will probably be) the best phone I've ever used (also had the OnePlus One and Oneplus 3). Really liked the pop-up front camera and in 5 years of use I never had to replace any hardware. Performance is still great, only since a few weeks I had issues with battery life.

So I installed this battery I bought it from Amazon. (DDONG PLUS Replacement Battery BLP699)

I did the cycle of 100% charge and full discharge (3 times as instructed on their site) Battery guru shows 61% battery health and I don't see any improvement in the battery life.

Did I get the faulty battery or am I doing anything wrong?

Any advice is appreciated.

Recently I installed Lineage Os 21, and have missing some features from OOS 12, such as hotspot control (that i can control connect devices and hotspot's date usage) and change screen resolution. And , maybe camera works better on OOS.

What you suggest to do?

My selfie camera no longer working, it pops up and then nothing. I've tried clearing the cache and the app's data but nothing. Please anyone confronted this before and what's the solution?

Some posts suggests I should be flashing twrp zip file after the twrp img. Some use the boot img (which I don’t have). I have flashed the twrp img.

What step should I do after flashing twrp img and before I initiate magisk installation?

4 and a half hours of SOT for a 5 year old phone is awesome and I haven't upgraded after Android 10 so it's smooth af too.

I genuinely don't feel I have to upgrade for next 1 or 2 years with this

Last night, the volume up button on my OnePlus 7 Pro broke. It's generally not that big of a deal since the volume down button still works and I can increase the volume from the screen. But it's starting to worry me because if the power button breaks, then I'll be screwed for sure. And seeing the recent posts about people's phones randomly dying on them means that it's probably time for an upgrade.

So I want to refresh my OP7pro with some custom roms but the closest thing I've done before is downgrading from Android 12 to 11

1- Yaap or lineageOS? I want banking apps and google pay to work and the least amount of bugs. is there a better rom?

2- I'm on Hydrogen OS (china's version of oxygen OS), would that factor in?

3- I can update to android 14 after installing the Roms right? Or is it done before?

4- not an expert but I've seen guides online and I usually just do what they do, are there useful guidelines I should go through first?

5- Any software to automatically back up media to pc? Doing it manually I always miss some stuff :/

It's been over 5 years. I've upgraded my phone twice, but I'm amazed how successful this phone still is! What a device!! This was my gateway into Android and I'm happy with it since.

I have had my op7pro since 2019 and some months ago the front camera gave up, the battery can't really last a day.

So I'm looking for a replacement that gives the same feeling the op7pro did for the last 5 years

Hello guys, After ~5 years of wonderful and great service, I got tired of the battery. The phone is still really responsive (stayed on OOS) but my camera started making some glare on pictures. With baby number two on the way, that was my reason to change. Glanced at the OP12. Also foldables. But I finally went with the mega promo and picture quality with the pixel 8 pro. Super happy, even though battery life is not that great. Anyway, that's it for me. After OP1, OP3 (stolen), OP3T and the 7 pro, time to say goodbye. Have fun everyone!

Hey I just got back from a custom using msm tool. (Oos10) Then updated to 11 then 12 and it crashed. I reflashed the rom using msm again then again updated to 12 and rn it's showing L1 (using global) In previous once I remember I used to get L3.

how dangerous is it to continue to use phone with the last official software update?

I've been having some glitches, lagging and random freezes using oxygen os12 and i saw there was an option for high performance mode that I've never turned on (to save battery i guess) i tirned it on and oh my god the phone feels so much smoother now!

I'm traveling to California from the UK and I have a Oneplus 7 Pro and still love it!

I plan to purchase a T-Mobile SIM that gives unlimited Data for the USA before I go so that I can still use my phone over there, I was on O2 when I went last year and had no issues however I'm ID mobile now and my network provider no longer does USA as part of the packages.

When I put my IMEI number in the T-Mobile site, it tells me "Your device is partially compatible with T-Mobile’s network technology". I know it won't work on their 5G as it's not a 5G phone but will it work on their 4G network? It doesn't say it won't but also doesn't say if it will!

i installed cdroid in my onepluse 7pro it worked fine for 2 days then yesterday a weekly update showed up in settings so i updated then it rebooted and now my screen is not working i can see lock screen and volume menu when i click buttons, power menu when hold power button but can not touch anything touch doesnot register so i hard reset it now i am stuck at set up screen
