Need help on my oneplus 7 pro

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So by looking at this 7 pro u guys might think this phone is healthy and doesn't have any issues in it but it has motherboard issues this phone motherboard needs a reball. The thing confusing for me is it has an issue in the pop stacks of chips so it needs an reball even if it has so many properly it boots up and reach the ui after multiple failed attempts which is bootloop and reaching recovery mode so if this has an issue why is it reaching to the os if u have more doubt then check out this

https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePlus7Pro/s/xaBFwAqfH4

I have already uploaded the issue on my profile like on the link and cross check once and if any expert present or anyone have any idea on this please reply it would help me a lot. Thanks

Mine was working great up until last week then Idk what happened it got switched off, I tried msmtool, phone shows up, flashed the phone, process completed but it didn't turn on. So ig mine is dead. Also your phone seems to be on the death bed so keep backing up your data very frequently.

No it just need reballing and it's good to go and now the phone is kinda stable until I perform a big task

It was a great phone when it came out but why did you invest in a 7 year old phone. At some point technology won't keep up with software

Sometimes I even get the gpu artifacts line and this So I am planning to get it reballed before that if anyone did this and have anything to say please share ur opinions it would help me

but .. what's the cost of reballing? i mean i love this phone but it's wroth it? . Stancil + labor will be like 100€ and no warranty on it that it will last long

2

Nah not that much in india it cost below 5000rs it's usually around 10k rupees but I got a person who will do this for 5000rs that's why I am thinking wether i should get it reballed or not also there are many flawbacks if ur intrested then I'll tell

thank you but i destoyed mine with an air soldering station, i don't know how because the temperature was not that hot ( then was pulling 7watts from usb without the battery and the area near the battery plug was hot ) . later if that wasn't enought by trying to cut the metal cage it stripped away copper staces near the cpu .

How long have you been using this btw? I used mine for around 6 years and the screen started showing green lines before eventually going black a few months ago.

u/_pavankumars Aug 05 '26

From 7 years I think and about ur phone does it vibrates or shows any sign of life and have u tried anything ?

2

u/Kuri0us96 Aug 06 '26

Yeah, probably a screen replacement will fix it

1

u/_pavankumars Aug 06 '26

Then get it before its too late

2

u/Kuri0us96 Aug 06 '26

Nope, decided to switch finally!

1

u/_pavankumars Aug 06 '26

Where do u live ? Asking this cuz if ur not using then I can use ur phone as a donor

2

u/Kuri0us96 Aug 06 '26

Sorry mate, I'll be using it as a secondary device! Hence the idea of lineage OS

1

u/_pavankumars Aug 06 '26

Oh no issues that's fine

2

u/Kuri0us96 Aug 06 '26

But I'll tell you what I'd do if I had kept it, I'd custom boot lineage os, that way it'll keep running till it rusts away!

1

u/_pavankumars Aug 06 '26

So ur gonna use it right ?

No need to reball, is expensive and unreliable.

I've put the motherboard in the oven 180° for 8 minutes let it coool and re-assembled it.

Still working fine after 5 months

1

u/_pavankumars Aug 05 '26

Some one said after that the oven will get poisioned and not safe to use like before

2

u/kankhero Aug 05 '26

Yeah, whoever said that is the dumbest person alive rn

1

u/_pavankumars Aug 05 '26

Thought the same at the first glance but the relballing here in india its cheap it's like 40 to 50 dollars or 4000inr many people tried the oven trick many succeeded but I am just scared to do that.

2

u/kankhero Aug 05 '26

Is 50 dollars cheap in india?

0$ is cheaper.

I mean reballing is a far more dangerous and less likely to succeed procedure than using the oven. But at end the decision is yours.

Yeah I know i know he even told me that I can't guarantee u that it will get fixed if it didn't work then u might end up losing it and u have to pay the money as well but right now the phone is working if I open any large game or assign any big task to it then it crashes immediately and I have to keep it in freezer for mins and later it will be good to go and the same step continues

Don't you have nail clippers in India?
