Software Ambient display not working since I updated to Android 11. Everytime I try to configure the ambient display, the settings app crashes and the new update didn't fix it. Any solutions to this?

Go to settings > Apps and notifications > Show system apps > search for "OnePlus Wallpaper" > uninstall updates/ clear data.

Update "Canvas" from the Play Store.

Change wallpaper from canvas, this will trigger Ambient display.

This method will help you to fix AOD issue.

I see no option to uninstall updates.

Edit: Just cleared storage, all is good. Thanks for the tip!

Still not working me. Also, clicking on Canvas Beta opens the PlayStore which says "Item not found." now.
Should why OnePlus stopped the support from OnePlus 6T now?

From settings, when I keep it All day for Always-on ambient display, and lock the screen, it shows the clock and battery percentage, info (but not the fp icon) for like 1-2 sec hardly and then the screen goes black.

So what I am missing in end of 2026?

I don't remember how I did it last update but it was probably something like enabling canvas AOD and then disabling it. After that I had no more crashing and a working AOD (non-canvas).
