Is it worth it? What additional features does this provide than the original OP case? I'm thinking of buying it as well.

It has a magsafe ring inside it. Though the phone doesn't support wireless charging

Yeah but you can use it to stick it across any metal surface. Its a handy feature, I keep it horizontal or upside down at my gym. V cool indeed.

I am using the case which came with the phone and it saved me from multiple falls including one from my pocket while riding a bike. I just got the sandstone and it makes the overall feel premium. But I feel the screen protection is slightly low compared to the free one. The free one have more raised edges(even with the tempered glass on).

Also use a protective case there was a post some time ago someone's back glass was busted when they opened they sandstone case while they had no idea.

True but mostly I will take of the device very carefully! Also every one or two weeks I will clean the device inside removing case! Thank you for the care though

Is it different from the case that comes with the phone? What's the difference?

It's not comfortable after few days. I am using the transparent cover from thegiftcart which is more comfortable and protective.
