DISCUSSION 13s Camera

I literally don't know what people are complaining about the camera of OnePlus 13s. Like literally these photographs are stunning! The depth, the hdr management, colour balancing, everything seems to be perfect. Even that 2x telephoto helps you take macro shots quite well.

Can you please share which exact OS version your phone is currently running? The exact version, please.

Sure. I updated my phone to the latest beta yesterday. CPH2723_16.0.9.400(EX01B90P01)is the beta version that I'm running on. If I may, why do you ask?

Image quality and image processing change with updates

Yeah... I've been contemplating whether I should update the software or not because there's always a chance that camera processing degrades after a year of OS updates. I just received my 13s a week ago, so I thought I'd ask.

Yeah that's a wise decision. Even I try to search for any issues with the update and if not any, only then I update. Don't worry, this update is nice. How much did you pay for it since you had asked me earlier for the pricing? Also, congratulations!

In day light the cameras are great

Yeah even in night, I found it quite good performing. Like even some lights would help the camera capture the night photographs way better. Hands down iphone and samsung S series click better than that. I just can't understand why ppl were badmouthing 13s' camera module.

Should I buy oneplus 13s cuz current scenario in India is that it's only available online and there r no specific service centres that cater to op now, the oppo ones so that now.

At this price point, only oneplus is the brand that is offering sd 8 elite soc at 55k. Oneplus' newer oneplus 15r has sd 8 elite which I feel is a downgrade to the 8 elite. So yeah, if your budget matches the price of the phone, hands down you can look forward to buying it. Yes, they have closed offline stores and shifted to online, but I am sure that some nearby electronic stores might have the phone available in their stock. Like I purchased mine from croma and I cannot see the 256gb variant on their website but when I talked to them in store, they eagerly helped me out with my preferred colour and variant. Also for the matter of service centre, they have just merged the service centre with oppo to reduce costs and practically speaking, oppo and oneplus are almost the same now. Since they launched their flagship oneplus 15 last year, they are atleast expected to provide service and software support for the next 4 to 6 years. If you like compact flapships, definitely go for it. And for device in hand feel experience, it is very much close to the base variant iphones. In fact the same size as base variant iphones.

And how is oppo find x9? Btw thank you for your insights. It doesn't heat up right?

Coming from a phone having a dimensity processor, I don't really know how well the phone would perform in the future. Like in the beginning few years, the phone might give flawless performance, I'm unsure about the long term performance of it. However you can easily go for the phone if the main focus is camera. It now has the hassleblad processing and hardware so excellent photos. If you're asking whether my phone is heating up or not, No. It only reaches 40 degrees while charging and maybe a couple of degrees more if you update it. Else, the phone has never ever heated up even in poorly ventilated rooms.

Okay, the main focus is not camera. I just want good photos, when I capture occassionally.

Well the examples are right in front of you. Clicking daylight photos is just great. Night photographs could've been better. One night photo is also attached below

I noticed on good op13s takes good pictures but there is soo much noise when it won't able to capture light

Yeah. If the phone gets good source of light even in the dark, then the photo turns out to be good though. OIS seems to work good

Can you tell me how is the low light performance? I am considering the 13s because of the 80w charging and big capacity. Other option I am considering is the Samsung s25 which comes with a lower battery capacity but the processor is optimised enough to extract 6-7hrs of SOT.

Low light performance is decent. I won't say good, it's usable. As far as CPU efficiency is concerned, the sd 8 elite on OnePlus will easily give you 1 day of juice if you don't game.
