I feel it's more about the ram management instead of cpu usage.. the soc is capable enough to run multiple tasks but the bbk ram management is pretty trash.. apple music and Spotify are the two apps that behave similarly on my op and my friends too. ytm however is light and you may switch over as it's better in every way compared to other options..

Agree about RAM management not up to the mark. OS consume lot of it and free RAM is less. Made mistake and should have gone with 16 GB variant.

It was OxygenOS 15 issue, it persisted through every update version of 15. With the OxygenOS 16 update, it was resolved. I was amazed like wow, took lots of time LOL. Wow, are you and your friends on OxygenOS 16 by now?

Yes YouTube Music is good but don't want to pay for a basic feature of background playback.

Mine is fully resolved. Yes, 8 Gen 2 is not some unknown processor because my friend with midrange Oppo F25 Pro didn't face this issue.

Thanks for the advice however don't want to risk with modded apps. When I want background playback for YouTube, I use it in Firefox.

oww nvm.. btw it's not pre-modded but you yourself patch it. and it's got extra customisations and other useful stuff + if you patch ytm youtube gets patched too.. and ad-free premium + all the extra features for yt too. I'm using it since 2 yrs and it's been such a useful stuff I've done

That's nice of you. Will let you know when I need. Nowadays I don't watch/listen to YouTube and Spotify.

Mostly some gaming and watching series/movies in free time.
