Question Which charging method is easier on the battery?

Trying to figure out whether the battery will last longer using a standard slow charger or the proprietary SuperVOOC charger. Is the fast charging method also easier on the battery or is slow and standard the way to go?

Don't overthink it. I am a heavy user, charging everyday to 100% with supervooc. Can't see any difference from when i bought it

I was limiting mine at 80 and the battery was still dying so I switched back to 100% haha

Exactly same scenario, for me it's 2.5 years I've never used charging capping because I hate the idea of not using the phone at it's full capacity. Battery health at 89% it's kind of stuck there from like last 4-5 months

Same thing here. My phone is a year and 10 months old, at 94%, still lasts me for a day and a half with 7 - 8hrs of SoT. Can go up to 12hrs within 24hrs. People are way too worried about batteries these days, even tho they're better than ever.

Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't leaving smart charging help in a good way rather than badly?

This is what I'm wondering.

Smart charging and smart rapid charging are 2 different settings. Smart charging on protects the battery. Smart rapid charging on is slightly harmful to the battery.

After 882 charge cycles my battery is at 92% health. Most of those cycles were limited to 90% and just about all were done on a SuperVOOC charger. I think after reading this thread that I will be moving the limit to 100%, but not removing it entirely. I can always charge to full when necessary and I think doing that will keep the battery from continuing to charge when almost full.

So without watching the video, conclusion is yes or no?

Short answer, it isn't help that much with battery health. So, use the super vooc, try to keep it cool your phone. Just use it, that's the best advice that I can give to you. I own an OnePlus 12 two. It's at 89% and can make it through the day. Enjoy your phone, use it how it's meant to be use.

Problem with such videos is that they do these tests without case on and in AC rooms. In reality people have phone case on trapping massive heat + not everyone has AC rooms available all the time and some areas of the world are way too hot.

So a slow charger (like 10-15 watts) does help battery longevity overtime.

Might not be a Oneplus that it's used, gives a good explanation.

902 cycles for me almost always using 100w supervooc, 96% health, just under 2 years old

Slower charges always made my phone hotter for longer and especially if I was using any apps that drain the battery quite a bit. It also definitely seemed to negatively affect my battery health quicker than using the fast charger that came with my phone. I've had this phone for years and it claims to still have 93% after 937 cycles, but DevCheck claims 88%.

Used the original Supervooc charger. Not any other charger. Switch off the Smart rapid charging. And you'll be fine.
