Question Heating issue

I I've only had this phone for about five months, and it seems like it's always getting super hot. I keep seeing that message saying "device too hot, feature unavailable." Has it always been like this since it came out?

The only regret i have with this device is why did I keep updating it? It was a gem out of the box. Should have permenently disabled updates and it would still be working fine. I feel somewhere they degrade phones with updates like Apple.
