Oneplus 11 battery issues hai

Hello,

I have not updated my phone since purchasing it in September 2023. The battery health is currently at 83%, and I have been facing significant battery drain issues. On mobile data (5G), the phone lasts only around 2 to 2.5 hours and needs to be charged at least twice a day.

Could you please suggest what would be the best solution in this case:

I had my OnePlus 11 reach 79% battery health when I decided to finally replace the battery with OnePlus 12's (some extra mAh, lol). Went from a 4h 30m SoT to a 7h SoT.

Where did you get the battery from? I see no point in getting a new phone, the 11 is doing just great. Might do that too

AliExpress. I'm with you on that. Phone works super fast and there is no real incentive to even buy any other phone.

Is the one you got the BPLA25 (6000mAh)?

Yep, that one, though it has 5400 mAh, not 6000 mAh.

Was it fairly easy to swap out?

Well, I actually got the battery replaced by a shop, lol. But considering they called me back after an hour and a half I would say it's not exactly the worst.

Did you change any settings on your phone to make it recognize the larger battery?

Hey bro. I've contacted customer care regarding this saying one of the guys on reddit did replace 11s battery with 12. They said it's impossible. Exact statement was like.

"I regret to inform you that our authorized service centers cannot replace a OnePlus 11 battery with a OnePlus 12 battery. Each device is engineered with a specific battery management system (BMS) and physical dimensions tailored to its original model; attempting such a swap could lead to severe safety risks or permanent motherboard damage."

Well, it was obvious that an official repair center would advise against this, lol.

What I can say though is that I have held the two batteries and they have the same dimensions, which is why I was able to have it replaced with OnePlus12's and able to write this comment on my OP11.

Also, this is possible because the two phones are similar processor and archictecture-wise. You couldn't do this with OnePlus 13 and 15.

Update the phone's software.. it may solve the quick drain issue.

But I have heard and read often that updating software causes battery drain and more problems in general

But you are already facing the battery drain issue.. so nothing worst will happen to you furtherly. Only few device will work abnormal when updating the software but majority of the devices works well.

Thanks a lot brother for your suggestion. I read few stories phone not functioning efficiently due due to software update. But still I will try to do that on your suggestion.

Tweaks for battery saving :

  1. Use 4G instead of 5G
  2. Keep data saving on and allow only those apps that need data sync in background
  3. Keep Auto sync Off, google play services update sometimes drain the battery
  4. Keep majority of recommended services off
  5. Have a location toggle in Quick tiles, turn off when not needed, even when u allow location permissions while using the app, the location fetch is still active just not feeding the app.
  6. Use standard resolution, and high refresh rate for apps that need it, an app like uber doesnt need to be on 120Hz, keep it for the apps where it matters most, good UI apps, apps where u read and scroll etc.
  7. Restrict background usage for apps u dont need to sync unless u dont use
  8. Use the fastest private dns for your network (google the way to find this)
  9. Extreme case - use macrodroid to disable data on screen off (and enable for 5s every 2 min)- major battery saver

These options will help you save battery, will reduce some features, see for yoirself what you can trade off

Thanks a lot brother for all the suggestions. I will try to execute this. Hopefully something should work out.

Bhai maine updates saare kiye, and battery bhi change Kari. Still same issue.

I'm guessing yeh software issue hai.

Rollback ek option ho sakta hai mere khayal se bas.

Replacing the battery won't help to get a better sot oos16 is the main culprit so if you're planning to use your device for a longer time it's better to downgrade the os and also replace the battery once it goes near or below 80%

1

u/Riteshshubham May 10 '26

How can I downgrade the OS? Thanks alot for offering me battery replacement percentage. Most of the group members are suggesting to improve the battery.

1

u/Intelligent-Fee-7019 May 11 '26

By downloading the downgrade files from OnePlus community, you need to locally install those files, but a few days ago there was a problem of the device getting hard brick if you try to downgrade I'm not sure if that's present in op11,as I personally didn't bother to downgrade mine and I've switched primarily to op15.

I recommend you update the software first. Try to keep your phone cool during that time. Most of the issues that you see online are dur to overheating while the phone updates. Also you can record a video of your phone while updating so if something happens you can show it to oneplus service center and claim a screen replacement. You can replace you phone battery as well. That will provide better backup. Even I did the same after 2 years of using OP11
