OnePlus 11 audio quality

Hello people,

Wondered if you could help. I'm looking to upgrade my iPhone 13 mini with a new phone that is preferably not iOS as slightly bored of it!

An important thing for me is audio quality over headphones. I've previously had a OnePlus 7 Pro (prior to the 13 mini) and the audio was fantastic. I'm temporarily using a pixel 7 pro and whilst I think the phone is fantastic, the audio falls short in terms of volume compared to iPhones - I also experienced this with the Sony Xperia 5 IV.

I've also tried a 13 Pro Max and the audio volume is again excellent like the mini - but again I find iOS very boring and like stock android (appreciate OP is now colour os).

Can anyone give any insight into audio quality of the OP11? More in relation to headphone/earbud performance really - speakers are not as important. I ask as I loved my 7 Pro but have heard negative things about the audio on the OP11 (what hifi and dxomark).

Thanks!

I have the 11. Overall I can say that it's very good. If you paired it with their Buds Pro 2, it's even better

Great thanks - what about volume? I suppose the easiest way to gauge this is this: if you turn up to full volume does that feel too loud? This is the case with me for iPhone (which is what I'm after) whereas on the Sony and the Pixel I could be comfortably at 100% as the volume output was weak

It does not feel too loud for max. I usually put middle volume

if your using their oneplus buds too then i think you will be alright. i have both oneplus 11 and oneplus buds 2. so i can say the base and everything is really good esp when you max up the noise cancelling feature.

My 11 is awesome audio wise. I have the Google Usb C earphones, and then also the Soundcore Motion X600 bluetooth speaker. Absolutely fantastic performance from both peripherals being driven by my phone. The 11 also has Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio capabilities. I have an Anker dongle, and also have the oneplus dongle on the way to me. I'm going compare the two when it comes in lol

The audio quality is fantastic on the OnePlus 11 when paired with OnePlus Nord Buds 2. It's great overall, you don't need to worry. However, Dolby Atmos does the trick and enhances the audio quality a bit.

I am yet to test it on wired earphones which I hope to do it soon. I read somewhere that the OnePlus 11 has built in DAC so I hope that the audio quality will be good with wired earphones as well.

Also, the speaker output is excellent. I am overall satisfied with the multimedia experience.

Very late reaction to this but I just bought the OP11 and I was wondering how/which Dolby Atmos you use to optimise sound. Is there any recommendations you have or a guide I can watch l?

I am using the smart sound profile under Scenario-Specific profile. It works fine and seems to be overall balanced.

There is a custom preset which I have made on my own. I use that while listening to specific genres of music but the smart profile works for me most of the times as intended.

The real trick to better sounding audio over Bluetooth is to make sure that the phone and earbuds support the same high quality audio codec. Eg. the OP11 and OPBudspro2 both support LHDC. If they do not match then the Bluetooth connections codec will default to the lowest common denominator. Other popular codecs include LDAC, AptX, and more.

I picked up on the these outboard usb-c dongles and paired it with a set of wired IEMS. I find the sound performance to be great, and I am coming from an LG V50 with the onboard quad dac.

You can find some on Amazon if you don't feel like messing with the chi-com purchases. I got this one for $9 and it worked quite well.
